I for one have no issues with reviewing data and noticing differences and questioning those differences, it’s an opportunity to make improvements if they are needed. I think what a number of us here still do not know is the same question OV asked earlier. My apologies if someone answered this already.

“Can you please provide me with the data of how much time is required per drive cycle to ensure your valves are clean?”

you'd probably disagree but having the valves sprayed every 30 mins to clean then is way overkill.

I want to get 300,000 miles out of my truck. So I appreciate this dialog and would be stoked to see some middle ground achieved here. I like the new 2.0 Beta a lot, but I won’t risk the long term reliability of my truck for it. Hoping there is a middle ground here.

This not not what I mean.
I'd like to see port injection more than once on 30 min drive...

This is the whole point of vF, so you guys can configure tunes to your exact liking. If you want more PI then you can adjust the setting to spray as much or as little as your heart desires...or just flash back to stock for a week or so and let the stock tune spray the intake ports if you are concerned there is buildup (there won’t be FYI).

There is no reason to need PI more than a few secs at cold idle. I don’t think a lot of you guys understand just how long it actually takes for buildup to occur on DI only engines.

So you don’t have any data on how much PI is actually needed and are just fearmongering in this thread?

    Okay.
If all you ever do is 30 minute drives,
With the engine always at operating temp, all the time,
and never start the truck, just leave it running forever,
    you'll get carbon build up.

Leave it the way it is - you’ve tuned it that way for the reason and you have the data to support it!

Or people can just let off the gas going downhill and let the cleaning happen then when the rpms are low? Will that work?

DFCO when coasting above about 1,400rpm. That's why the instantaneous MPGs peg out.

Anyone in here know if this tuner will work on 3rd gen? And if I’d be able to get 2.0 with it?

    Fearmongering..Sit down.
I have more than 1 year of data and just do plain comparison. Previous data suggest there is not enough of PI.Good, bad I have no clue.
BTW, Ze germans saw build up on DI in 15-30k miles. 1 year of driving for some in US of A

I don’t think anyone is concerned aside from one person who is in turn getting others stirred up.

most of us know the stock calibration is garbage and are fine with any changes you feel necessary. It runs so much better than stock and as far as I’m concerned the less of the stock ecu logic the better.

Just curious, but have you tuned your LC500 with something similar? Any valve issues with buildup? If you trust your own abilities to tune a $100k car and not worry about issues I probably won’t either
