That almost sounds like the starter solenoid doesn’t disengage when the motor is already running and thus it’s “riding the starter” ..
Just what it sounds like to me

 

Complete swing and a miss, they were being sarcastic about a new tune developer/software. Go read through the last 2 days of posts if you're really that curious about the drama, the dumpster fire doesn't need any more fuel than it already has.

From looking at the engine the mostly likely reason is that the oil drain holes from the cylinder heads aren't very big and aren't in ideal locations.
There is no oil drains at the rear of the cylinder heads / back of the engine so on enough incline the oil is going to pool back there until it reaches that first oil drain.
If I had to guess, because I haven't tested, that would be at least a quart of oil pooling back there before it reaches.

There are only 3 oil drains in the cylinder head and they are tiny.

 

Sounds like a good plan Mat! It is 99.99% perfect.

04B04 Tune Update.
Running the 31-33 Tire on 87 Octane. I have 265/70/17, so this is a 31.5". If there is a reason to rather run the stock tune, please let me know.

Cold start this morning. Found idle well.
Sitting at the first light you could hear the cleaning cycle kick in and that happened at multiple lights for the first 5 minutes. After that, it had obviously done its job. Truck gets nice and quiet at idle now when cleaning cycle doesnt kick. Nice.

Throttle response I really like, not too aggressive. But Ive never really been one who has been hung up on the throttle response idea. The bigger thing to me is finding the right gear for the job and then getting out of that gear. And I like the 3-4 shift. Im very interested to see how it will hold on the highway. Hoping 6th will be usable more often!

My 2 Cents: For me, I have no real interest in VF as I believe 2.0 is made to be everything that youve gathered and re-written. Thats why all this complaining about injection makes it seem other people are trying to do your job. I really think you have all the information and that the best tune will come from that.

You mentioned in the posts with the links this is the base features for test, what will be different in the final?

 

Finished my 100 Miles.

For cold start, no issues after 10 or so miles.
Must be when everyone first flashed, reset LV/AT and freaked out...
I do miss the dirty nasty loud start up though, it was like the V8 I never had.

Gearlock, I thought it would only down shift if I shifted down AND released the gas. I must have misread, cause I was able to downshift while still having my foot on the throttle.
Still has that shift lag in S mode.

From 2-3, if you let off and press the gas right when it shifts to 3rd gear, it shifts HARD.
Doesn't happen on any other gear, only 2 to 3.

At a red light, with ECT on, I slammed it and... the truck just stood there for a good 0.5 second.
Then it moved, slow rev, then went full WOT once it passed 2.5k
It was very unexpected.

For the most part, driving is smooth.
Also my fuel eco is up, yeah!

My Cold Start glitch happened on the first start of the day the next day, today.
Flashed yesterday. Started the vehicle multiple times through out the day with no issues (truck was warmed up. This morning after being parked all night is when it did it. Mat mentioned he can fix it. I would like to know if he recommends flashing back until he releases a patch. Other than that, so far so good. Shifts well and throttle feels fine.

start up control for fuel is simple to modify so that is easy. I did test all of this on my truck and did not encounter any issues. Seems some do, some don't.

Have to attend to tickets and updated modeling for the TTs. I will not be on here much.

@OVTune when we have questions not specifically related to 2.0 or other tunes, do you prefer we send in a ticket or PM you on TW?

 

So keep running the Tune with the start up control the way it is? Or revert back until it’s fixed?

 

Mine is hung at the back of the fuse box, homemade style. Uses only existing holes.

 

The exhaust tone at cold start always surprised me.
