I said it's not, because the Tacoma version is not out yet. Anything you can buy TODAY is not the proper version for Tacoma. If you have an existing OVTune kit, you are eligible to send back your dongle and get vFTune for free. Or if you have the p5f kit you can get vFTune for a reduced price. Either of those can be ordered TODAY at a different link. The regular (full) price vFTune is not for sale yet. The actual software itself is not available yet for any of these options.

Ditto. I didn't think it was going to start this morning at all. Cranked longer and sputtered quite a bit before obtaining a normal idle. And it was 72 degrees when starting it outside.

Just realized my dash cam might have caught it yesterday since I had ignition on already. Will check.

Ya you just gotta be very patient. Submit a request for whatever tunes you'd like to support@ovtune.zendesk.com and then find something else to keep you occupied for a week (or a few). I've had to do it for the 1.05 and 2.0 beta files so far. This is the only confirmed method I have seen so far for obtaining tune files for the handheld. No quick and easy 2.0 test file links for us (if they are even available).

He sent me 2.0 beta files earlier. I had sent my Zendesk email a few weeks ago. I've already put 30 miles on the 91 Performance tune and am pleased with it so far. Going to have to get used to the new tip-in. Gets a little jumpy if you forget, ha. Looking forward to 2.0 Final!

    Thanks @OVTune

I don't even have a tune yet. I wasn't looking to be able to tweak things on my own, that option was not even on the radar when I picked up a used flash kit. Don't know if I want to now, or in the future... time will tell.

I have been looking forward to OVTune since I bought my truck two months ago. Excuse my non-engineer brain, but it sounds like Mat has things pretty much where they need to be. He is the subject matter expert in the room. I'm going with the probability that he is not giving us something that will wreck a pile of expensive trucks. Maybe there are other experts on here, but I'm not reading 3000+ pages to figure out who is or isn't, also don't care at this point.

I agree with others. I want what Mat feels is HIS best tune, without compromises that would detract from what everyone has been waiting for for so long. Remember, 100% of the people will still not be happy, 100% of the time.
As others have stated, and as it's been designed, if you don't like a particular aspect of 2.0 and understand what you are doing, get Vf Tuner and fill your boots.
I have to go now. :hattip::rasta:
    Peace.

Can anyone summarize what exactly is going on. Seeing a bunch of confusing information and can’t follow. I currently have the 04B04 4.88 tune. Is there going to be a 2.0 for the 04B04 or is the new one already out? Any information/links would be greatly appreciated.

I just updated my sig to add the links to Mat's posts regarding the 2.0 Final+Test tune downloads, and also getting VFTune free or discounted if you already own the OVTune Flash Kit.

I have a 2016 too and I only notice a 1/10 second hiccup when starting, but it starts fine each time. It engages the starter may 2/10s of a second, 1/10 hiccup, then starts. It isn’t a big deal on mine, but noticeably different than stock or any other tunes that I have tested. I probably would not have even said anything, but it is obviously more pronounced on other Tacoma’s. 2.0f 04B04 91 OL with stock tires.

I could swear I noticed that startup hiccup way before OVTune.

I'd like to enjoy and drive mine for many years, melting down the warp core is not part of the plan. Sorry for the Star Trek Reference.

I'm good with Mats' 2.0 whenever it is ready.
I'll stick with that little orange OBDII OV Flash kit

Mine would do it every once in a while, like once every 2-3mo. But not as defined as this and not every cold start

No start issues - yet. Curious what might be different. I did LV/AT resets, 10 minute idle, and some drive slow/stop and idle/repeat ... for a few blocks before I took it for an easy spin. 87 Tune

I did that and everything was fine until I parked it and started it the next morning. Thats when it acted up. Did it again tonight after sitting all day at work. Hmm.

What miles people got on the sock battery is the question... harsh winters do me no good where I live. Throw a multimeter on that thing first.
