I have no other choice but VfTuner. I'm still not satisfied with shift points. It's either that or 2nd gen.

Just a data point that most likely has little bearing. Some tend to flash on a warm engine, others not. I've gone both ways in the past, but for this flash it was on a stone cold engine that had not started in over a day. I then fired it up and started the learning process.

I've had some more time and miles with the 91 octane 31-33 tune in traffic. Startup time is slightly extended like it's not firing as soon as it used to.
Also had a few instances where there was a drive train "buck" after transitioning from coasting/braking to accelerating. Speeds varied from 5-40 mph when it happened. Possibly torque converting locking/unlocking. not sure. Felt like someone tapped my back bumper.

Nope, the opposite. Wish it was like the first or second 2.0 beta that had the aggressive tip in

the shift points aren’t the problem, it’s the terrible gear ratios that Toyota decided to put in the transmission. They are simply too wide. You can’t change that.

Just to be safe, for science, I just ordered a 24F X2 AGM battery. So if my startup issues are battery related, I’ll know soon.

The gear ratios are pretty bad but my truck still upshifts into overdrive gears too early. 5th gear at 35 MPH is still too low of speed in my opinion and I will change via VfTuner.

Curious how testing the 31-33" version might be - just for testing and not a fix.

I could possibly give the 31-33" a try. If it did change shift points, I wouldn't expect much. Maybe a mph or two.

I’ve asked a few times And searched but haven’t found The answer yet. Does anyone know if it was stated this $79 price for vFtune to current flash kit owners will stay this price for us or should we expect it to increase?
