Hence my confusion lol, hey im not afraid of 5.29s. But the truck does see a fair bit of highway...albeit very hilly.....southwest PA, so im always digging for gears.

Alright, I am sort of interested in future tire upgrades... Lol Anybody running 33's with 5.29? I just need a mpg estimate.

I’m not aware of any mt out there with 5.29s

there’s a sheet somewhere that has tire size, gear, rpm on it so you can compare everything and figure out what’s best. @tonered probably has it handy somewhere

I would do a lot of comparisons at a site like this:
    http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html

@Pablo8 did 4.88s and is happy?

For me, I noticed almost no difference going from stock 30.6in to 31.7in diameter.

I lost alot going from stock to a 33 lol. I hadnt heard of a MT running a 5.29 either.....at least not with semi normal tires being fitted. I dont want to blind myself with data...ill just keep the 4.88 plan lol

Ill also add...for anyone that was curious...having tuned this truck, really did help mitigate the serious need for gearing immediately. Im just happy to be able to roll second gear...im a simple man.

I run 4.88's on an auto with 33" tires and a ton of extra weight. (winch, armor, fridge, etc.) I have no desire for higher gearing. I already feel way too close to redline on the highway at 80+ with traffic in the flat part of Texas.
Planning to run the turbo system in the future and I think that will make 4.88's with the auto trans a dream.
