I traded my 16 for a 17, but that was going from an auto to a manual.

 

Did you have Ovtune for the 16 auto?

 

Negative. I traded it 3 months before ovtune was just an idea. Gears were just starting to become available at that time too.

I’d found a manual to test drive and my mind was made up. Ordered one optioned how I wanted.

I test drove a manual Tacoma not too long ago. I don't think I'd like to have a MT as a daily driver. How much does Ovtune help the MT?

 

Dude, Toyota drilled extra holes for port injection for a reason in your engine. Can we debate this fact?
Also, tuning by AFR, I heard, is a "getto" tuning.

Port injection has NOT, repeat NOT, been disabled. So, again, what is the problem?

You’re searching for a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist. Don’t like it? Buy vF and customize the tune to your liking, end of story...dude

It gets rid of the unpredictability of the factory tune. It’s much more linear response and way more power down low.

Front the factory under 1500-2000 rpm was a dead fish then there was a surge in power at 2500 and 3500 rpm.

truck pulls hard now from idle all the way to 7200 rpm. You’ll hit 70+ mph in 2nd gear.

 

At this point, if I was OVTuned, I wouldn't even sell him vF tuner.
He'll find something to bitch about that too
