Entirely off topic but do they let you open command prompt? w32tm /resync should fix that.

Is 1.02C MT getting an 87 tune now or are you waiting for an empty on the dyno?

+2 - even since the old days on stock, premium was much smoother overall vs 87. If the same smoothness (or better) now exists with 87 I’ll be giving that one a shot and reserve 91/93 for towing/mountain trips where the extra power is useful

    Now this is interesting.

What did Toyota change, and can these differences account for varied outcomes that M/T owners have experienced with 1.02B?

Maybe we'll find out down the road..

One week until M/T dyno day!!:woot:

I'm just excited to get 1.02C just to try a different set up and actually choose my desired tune.

Do we need either of the Guardant downloads?

Is there an updated version of current instructions?

Trying to prep the PC now for the incoming kit.

I have downloaded the - OBDII Open Port J2534 drivers & the PCMFlash installer.

I take this route once a week and there are no huge hills but I can tell that the erratic shifting from 5,6th on some the smaller hills has stopped for me.

I received the MT 102 C early this AM. Description of file is ......

    " 1.02C MT file update
optional update with some gear based management adjustments, torque, and a few others "

Manual trans so the " some gear based management adjustments " is a head scratcher.

Also ...... I've no idea if this is the 87 or 91 tune ..........

I'll load it ..... but, just sayin

I can't totally comment on this yet as I still have 91 in the tank but I didn't notice any difference in power in normal driving conditions. I will be filling it up with 87 tomorrow so we will see how that goes. As for gas mileage I didn't notice any noticeable change. I got 19.5mpg and I have a totally stock truck with a softopper on the back.

The truck will time out in the ignition mode, but it is 20-30 minutes. My truck does anyway. Not sure if programing overrides this timer, but it is there. It has never taken near that long to program the ECU.

Well I suppose you COULD call it gear based adjustments with all the inputs the ECM monitors.

I mean, if you take into account RPM (clutch engaged of course) and vehicle speed, the ECM could "know" what gear you're in. Oh, and high/low range would be another factor.

This of course assumes stock wheel/tire/axle ratio setup and no slippage.

Just spitballing, as manual transmissions usually only have internal switches to indicate neutral and reverse.

Edit: OR, Mat just didn't have time to make a completely new description of the M/T file - copy paste situation lol!
