just curious, but does clearing LV and AT prior to flashing not have the same effect?

    ...and the reasoning?

just trying to figure out why it matters doing it before or after.

seems if the values are cleared prior to flashing, there would be no data to carry over, right? So flashing afterwards would mean an unnecessary step.

Truth. I've been doing the opposite because that made sense to me. Yesterday I reloaded the tune then reset both. Still less than 100 miles and she's running pretty damn good.

It has happened on several tunes after a first flash within 300 miles of flashing (normal), even when I first bought my truck with 2 miles on it. I believe it’s the fuel tables adjusting which is why it sometimes feels like a choke on the throttle. It goes away with time. I truly believe these tunes need at minimum a tank of gas to settle. EVERY single time I’ve flashed a tune since 1.03 it shines the best after a long drive after at least 3-400 miles

Agreed. Kinda feels like when you'd have a lil backfire in the carberator and it would pop and stall then take off. 400mi and all is well.

Exactly and during my testing it happens mostly And more often after a values reset.

That’s dumb. Oh well. My fault for losing the dongle. Looks like I’m stuck with 1.05 version.

Fingers crossed something doesn’t happen and I have to reflash it.

Why does this truck drive so differently than a 2nd gen?? Is it 100% the engine? The 1-5 stock gearing is basically identical.

Have I missed any comments on the 404b 4.88 31-33 2.0 start up issue? Having an awful sounding startup like it’s struggling for fuel almost every start up.

I think it's a bit of the ratio differences between 3rd gen and 2nd gen (see below), and a bit of the EPA logic driven ECU control trying to eek out every last mpg on the standard test circuit... never mind that doesn't work in the real world.

I thought OvTune was a complete overwrite of the ECU?

Even if so.... you can't software the gears. They is what they is. He can change shift points and have various gears hold longer. But you can only bandaid hardware with tuning so much.
