Gearlock should work without using ECT, just by putting it into S.


Also, I have not posted the new files yet. I will this weekend if I can wrap it up. There is one other thing a few users have experienced that I want to get sorted as well.

Right now we are getting 3x as many tickets as normal. Not sure why. We are flooded with tickets at the moment. Generally we see around 20-40 new per day, but right now we are seeing 90-110+ new per day and we have 319 un-responded to messages just from yesterday.

So Rafael and I will be a bit busy getting back to everyone.

honestly all the prior tunes, that was my biggest complaint was bogging coming out of a corner. If it did downshift then it seemed jerky touching the gas. I am speaking from roughly 120 miles of the tune but i did alot of city driving trying to get it to bog out of turns or be jerky and it has not happened on the newest tune. Very smooth and i think you’ll be happy at how it handles city driving.

 

Sounds good. It’ll be worth the wait just to have that one issue gone.

 

Mat, some folks are having a question about using ECT when in S mode. My understanding from what you’ve stated in the blog post (Nov, 2019) is that in 2.0 final, S+ECT would be gearlock with Atkinson cycle eliminated or Tow Mode.

Gear lock will only downshift or upshift at the extreme ends of RPM to protect the engine, so yes, coming to a stop in S6, the engine will downshift.

 

I think that's the second time you've said that, but are you talking about 2.0 or 1.05? Unless something changed after I got the gear locker 1.05, it only works if you push ECT while in S mode, and was advertised that way. Just confused if you're talking about a different version of 1.05 that I'm not aware of, or if you're talking about how 2.0 will behave.

 

@MacFly, he's talking about how 2.0f will behave. I think you'll find that with 1.05 or 2.0 beta gearlock activates when you push ECT whether in S or D. That's why you have to be careful when using ECT in D. You'll get gearlock, not fun if you're not expecting it. I put my ECT button on the @MESO shifter so it's really easy to on/off ECT when using D.

2.0 final will relegate gearlock to S mode only and return ECT to it's normal function in D.

 

That is how it should be working right now in those 2.0 for 04B04 I posted.

That's what I figured, it was just a tad confusing speaking in present tense not future tense, I didn't want to be giving people bad info on here. I had no problems with Gear Locker on 1.05, I'm sure I won't on 2.0 either.

Just an FYI matt, first 100 miles mine didnt have the startup stumble but now it does. Just info that its not always from the start of when you tune.
