Is it bad for 6th gear to only be used at high speed?? With ECT turned on, 6th gear only activates at 70 mph minimum.

I think it drives awesome. I haven't really been paying attention, but I'm pretty sure mine hasn't had trouble going into 6th.

it might not be a bad thing mat. could help with the perceived hunting, (in cruise (especially). with the trans gear spread, and the 3.90 stock gears, the second over drive (6th), personally, really feels like too much gear to pull, unless you are over 70-75mph.

i do appreciate you looking into all concerns, and taking the time to feel it is right for the masses. Ski

@OVTune that is interesting. I was out today testing the 31-33 tune on 87. I thought it was just the wind/tune but I couldn’t get into 6th until doing about 120KPH and going downhill.

can provide additional feedback if need be. On 265/70/17

other then that, tune has so much more powerrrr!

Yes, I do and put almost 160 miles on it already. It drives like a dream. Just weighted my truck and it came in at 6250. Yup, I drive a pig. So for me to say that means a lot about this tune. It just keeps getting better and better.

What questions do you have about it?

    Interesting,
I had that happen once last night. Engaging Cruise Control forced it into 6th. I wish I could provide you more help with that... But the details are vague. Apologies.

Are you getting any of the start up issue's? Or the not going into 6th gear? I am debating on waiting for the fix.

6th gear is preserved for higher speed, and really shouldn't be used under 60mph.
But a few have reported they aren't seeing 6th until almost 70mph.
6th gear works 10x better at 70mph vs 60mph, but the speed limit for some folks is under 70.

The tune does not have it setup where you can't use 6th under 70 so please don't read this thinking that.

The conditions it happens in is being investigated, and I think it is just from users with stock gears + big tires, but will know more as soon as possible.

I have the same tune, same tire size, plus full armor, snugtop and gear. It's a heavy pig and I had no 6th gear or transmission problems. It upshifts and downshifts perfectlty after I got some miles on the tune.

My biggest problem is I am not seeing an increase in MPG. Probably because I can't stop hitting that skinny pedal as I cannot believe this is the same truck. I ALMOST thought I no longer needed a regear. But 6th is way too tall.

@OVTune If it helps, send me a license and I will run a test for you.
I'll even read and follow instructions.
Stock truck, stock tires, 87 octane.
The ECU Just got flashed at the dealer and the truck is running great.
I'll go over the wire and report back!

I'd say to just wait for the final. I didn't have any issues but this morning, the startup cranking is getting longer, but this is a known issue that Mat is working to fix. My 6th gear is fine.

Just curious about the starter running after truck starts like alot are seeing. Is this hurting anything? Just dont want to damage anything before fix comes out.
