I’m running one of the 2.0 beta’s (I believe the 3rd version) and I’ve noticed a improvement in drivability AFTER installing my lift/285’s. Don’t get me wrong my mpg’s have hit the shitter. But the transmission seems to be not going crazy like I thought it would. Still debating regearing if it will help mpg but it’s driving surprisingly good! Thanks OVTune:thumbsup:

I know for sure that 2.0 won't need S+ECT to activate gear lock, it'll just be S for gear lock. 1.05 needed ECT to activate gear lock in S mode.

I’m not sure if ect+s does anything different. I haven’t noticed a difference. D+ect is where it’s at though. Works flawlessly

I've been told that S+ECT will be "Tow Mode", but I don't have any idea what MAKES it tow mode. So far no one has been able or willing to tell me what exactly is changing between 1.05 and 2.0 other than "it's better", so I'm just waiting to figure it out myself I guess. I think I'm 04A61 or something though, so I figure it'll be a while.

Here is some info mat shared about this.

    S mode = gear lock
    D+ ECT = map 2/ performance
S+ECT = map 3/ tow mode no gear lock

Being that ur ect now on 2.0 will be a performance map. It will likely already have higher shift points. Which is mostly what you want in tow mode. I'm sure he will have more explanation or you can experience it. But it will be another map definitely designed for tow. Reason its s and ect is because from factory you are technically supposed to be in those two modes when towing with your 3GT. Basically all you need for towing is limit ur gears to 1:1 (4th) and have higher shift points to not bog ur vehicle and burn it up.

How do you go that fast with 35s I can hardly go that fast with 5.29s and 33s. Lol
Apparently some people reported the speed limiter is gone in the 2019 beta but for me it’s still there, however it doesn’t surge power at 85 it just won’t go any faster.

Not sure how I missed that one. I don’t know if that’s how the final assignment is going to be though. But the detail on tow mode is nice to see.

1200 mile drive two weeks ago and was hitting all the time passing. Speed limit is 80. 35s and lots of weight, on the 1.05 performance 91 tune. Really sucks to have the engine just shit the bed and then wait for it to come back and the guy you are passing is thinking what a jerk.

yea that was back in November last year. Really awesome idea. I too was thinking for some reason ect+s mode = no gear lock but that clearly shows gear lock which makes sense because it is very useful For towing. I flashed back to a gearlock tune for a long towing trip a couple weeks back and it worked out very well.

I was able to hold 5th on flat around 55~60 mph I had to really feather the throttle to keep TC locked but still have enough Power to keep it rolling it was barely doable, but was getting about 12-13mpg until I hit the hills. I did notice if I sped up to 61mph in 5th it would not unlock the tc at all so I may just start towing at that faster speed however My mpgs tanked a lot, I prefer to tow at the slower speeds.

    4.88 2.0 91 beta tune, 5.29 gears.

Yeah that's my wall too. i hit the 85-86 someplace around there and it just can't go faster. As for how, down hill a very very long hill. lol It's not really a big problem. Oregon speed limit is 65. Also I've grown up and don't need to be the first one to sit at the stop light.

Definitely experiencing the start stumble occasionally, but my truck has never ran better while in D mode. In fact, if I hadn’t already bought 5.29s (not installed yet) I would likely not feel the need for them. I can finally cruise at 65-70 mph without feeling the need to keep it in S5.

    D- normal
    S- gear lock
    D+ECT- Tow mode (works great!)
S+ECT- fun mode w/ gear lock

    * on 275/70-17s with moderate weight. 18-19 mpgs indicated.

edit: looks like there is a newer file that addresses the cold start. I’ll flash it today and see if it helps.
