In the first 50 miles I lost mpg (learning reset).
50-120 miles I lost mpg because I kept hitting the gas because I could not believe it was the same truck.
120+ miles I am driving normal again and am up 2-3 mpg. Heck I did mountain driving last weekend and I was getting +2 mpg over what I was getting on flat ground. NUTS!

I think the cycle is actually the injector cleaning. Blows fuel out of slits on injector body to blow carbon off the injector. Not sure if it has valve cleaning side benefits or not.

Yeah, you are correct. I read valve and then typed valve. The D4S system is what I was thinking of.

My 2nd point still remains the same.

I don't remember off the top of my head but it should be in the engine screens somewhere. Any reason you can't use PCM or P5F to find it?

I don't know what either one of those things are :)
I'm ultimately just trying to get my current ecu version to see if my 2016 has an update applicable before i start down this rabbit hole.

Might be able to see it under generic OBDII? As long as you aren't changing parameters you can safely poke around and surf through menus.

Under generic ODB, i hit Vehicle Information and i see a calibration id that ends in 04b1000 - i assume that's it and would be interpreted as 04b10?

    Oh, shit.

Get that updated ASAP. You have Techstream installed already. The file you need is "T-0033-18.cuw" Download it, run it, connect to your truck, and follow the instructions.

I actually felt a difference going from first to second. It used to feel so rough and jerky. It feels much smoother - maybe sugar pill? Who knows :)

Sooooo now i ONLY really want to change my alternator voltage to output 14.7 v. What's next besides spending all my money? haha. I need to purchase vForest Tuner Software? I think the MT's are supported now, yes? I can't keep track man

Yes, not being a previous customer you would be buying the VFtune software and a tune pack. Tune packs have not been released yet for existing MT customers, but they are incoming. Did you already buy a Tactrix adapter, or are you using something else?

Also, yes. My understanding was that 04B10 was hot garbage. I am not surprised you feel a difference going straight to 04B13 right away. I think @MOC221_ had that rev. on his '16 and suffered with it for quite a while. Then again we did call his truck the ginger.....
