Update on latest 04B04 2.0F 91 31-33 stock gears. Well over 700 miles on it due to holiday road trip. My start stumble has mostly disappeared, but temps are up and more miles per start. Tune is running great. Hard to judge mileage as we had lots of headwinds and speed limit is high round here (70-80 with traffic moving 85ish). Averaged around 17 mpg on 265/75/R16 C-load with pretty good load. 3 bikes, gear, kids, food, sliders, skids, ARE shell, etc... still happy with the tune, any updates from here is icing on the cake. Looking forward to final release and vF to tweak the few things just for my needs (AGM battery, etc...)

For me, worst start-hesitation is a "heat soak" start

I’ll be curious to see how it starts tomorrow morning. Temps in the low 50’s tonight. The typical skip I’ve been having hasn’t been there while on my road trip (SLC to Moab/La Sal UT). I definitely have had the start up issues on this and the last 2.0 04B04 tunes released. It just seems to be less consistent lately. Luck or more miles, or ambient temp or...? Jury still out, but definitely driving nice with the latest tune, don’t want to go back to previous tunes, or stock, if I can avoid it.

Yeah I feel ya. My start has been downright grotesque at times, still not switching to a previous tune. I just wish I knew the mechanism, so I could test it in real time and "engineer" my way out of it. (prime the fuel pump, open the gas cap, let it sit for longer) etc. Try testing on a quick fuel stop. Pull over, refuel and restart. I get a heavy 2 or 3 skip.

Drove almost 2k miles in the last 3 days and all I gotta say is that using cruise control in this truck is just about as enjoyable as getting turds shot at your face.

Gave up on everything Toyota today and drove with gear lock on for about 500 miles. Feels like the truck is torque limited as pressing the pedal more than half way doesnt do anything unless im in 3rd gear or lower.

I mean he'd have to be if he's using gear lock.

Kinda discouraging about the statement on using CC. Was hoping the tune would improve it

I’ve never had a problem with CC either...must only be on the trucks with “shifting issues”...which I’ve never had either. My only beef with the trans is the gear spacing, but that cannot be fixed.

2018+ trucks have dynamic CC that has not been changed by OVTune (yet, probably ever). It’s too bad because it truly is miserable.

I have a 32 gallon tank so I usually get 500 miles on a tank with around 2-4 gallons still left. Im running the beta tune from last October.

Started in Minnesota then went through South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, now in California. The cruise control just shifts really erratically, sometimes jumps down to 4th and holds it there even if going down hill. Also shifts back and forth nonstop 4-5-6-5-6-5-6. I just gear lock it into the gear I need to go uphill and it does the trick. Motor is still underpowered so it takes 4k rpm to do 70mph up a steep incline.

This. Using Adaptive Cruise is *optional*. If the way it works bothers you, don't use it. Problem solved.

The pre-collision and BSM are valuable safety features IMO. Saved me from hitting a deer last summer.

I don't think Mat touched '18+ CC at all, even with adaptive CC off. Not 100% on that though.

Rafael and I are preparing all files, including dump tube versions of all.
We will release 2.0 for *every* ECU. Including 04B00 and 04B01, old 2016 version calibrations.
We still HIGHLY recommend getting the TSB flash though.

once we get this released, we will work on providing a smooth and easy vF Tuner process.
From that point we will be helping / supporting you guys through vF Tuner. Which means we will provide examples, how to's, etc.
