@OVTune Yes i for sure hit a governor. The truck still screams like it wants to keep going, but it sits right at 96 mph.

 

Anyone have the latest 2.0 91 OL for 5.29 gears and 31-33 in tires they can PM me? I'm running the most recent 2.0 for stock gears but am getting re-geared on Friday and would like to run the correct tune for the 350 mile drive home. Thanks in advance!

 

Why are we trying to drive trucks so heavy they need to be regeared 100 mph?

 

Because. Is there really any other reason needed?

 

my trucks not re geared because it’s heavy, mines re geared to make the truck drive correctly.

 

For me it has nothing to do with weight, it's about fixing the POS gearing Toyota put in these trucks for EPA standards on paper. I'm just trying to make this truck act like it should have from the factory. And as for fixing the speed, again that's just part of fixing Toyota's screw up; if you're supposed to be able to hit 100+ whatever on stock, you should be able to do the same thing after a re-gear.

 

Because it has a car engine. So it can go fast.

 

Yall know most of you running bigger tires aren't rated past like 86mph on average hahaha due to your tires. Most offroad tires have a safety rating limit of around that mph

Yah a sl rated tire...but I'm mostly talking about the guys who are re geared running 33-35+ inch tires. And most of these guys run the MT tires im sure. I wasn't talking about people with 31s lol

 

Shit I have the 6Mt and second gear redline is 75mph on the speedo. I’m on 35s so I’m sure it’s around 80mph.

 

All Tacoma’s shut down at 110 on the dot so I’m assuming the gears are affecting it. Wheel speed is determined at the hub so the speed governer must be in the trans if it’s governing out that early.

 

They may be governed, but they don’t shut down.

 

Hmm take it up to 110 sometime and see, every tacoma I’ve ever owned shuts right down at 110 on the clock. It’ll drop a couple mph then come back to life

I think the point is that they are governed to cut throttle, but they don't literally turn off.

 

I suppose your right haha I was just thinking before fly by wire they did the same. So I figured it cut off fuel or spark at the governer

 

Will this cause another delay in the release of 2.0 because some people want to drive there trucks at 100MPH?
