I think there's some underlying issues on why these threads turn into dumpster fires. Managing expectations, scattered info, perceived value etc. Some of the other big developmental threads I've seen don't devolve into this, just has me wondering what the actual issue is. Only because it's interesting to think about.

I just got back from a 600 mile trip with about 250-300 miles of off road travel with everything from steep rocky roads over 11,000 foot passes and desert mobbing at 5,000 ft and everything in between. I’m on 04A61 running 33-prem-thx-stock and have about 1000 miles on it now. I’m on 285/75r17 and my truck is on the quite heavy side of things.

Overall the truck drives well and a million times better than stock. My mpg isn’t great in general, but is 1-2 mpg better than where it was. It really likes to cruise at around 60 mph (not corrected) and overall pep is pretty good. It mostly cruises in 5th, rarely 6th, and drops into 4th on hills pretty frequently.

It is absolutely apparent after this trip that I need gears and I’ll be doing 5.29’s. There were multiple times when I had to go into 4 low just to make it up a steep pitch that a stock wheel and weight truck would cruise up no problem in 4 high. I figured this was inevitable but wanted to know for sure that OVtune alone wouldn’t be enough. There’s just not enough motor there to turn the stock gears with this size wheel at my weight.

So for any others in a similar scenario, don’t expect miracles. The shifting and overall driving is still so on point that I love driving this truck, but sometimes you just need gears too.

It specifically states on the 2.0 release page not to use flash manager.

I am currently on 04B04 33 4.88 Premium THX. I was thinking of trying non-THX.

What is the downside of not resetting LV and AT?

Haven't been able to mess with my truck since 2.0 released. Reading the last 20 pages and it seems the only complaints are from people that reset the learned values and haven't given their trucks enough time/mileage to relearn and settle. Seems like Matt knocked this one out of the park and I can't wait to finally get mine off the 1.5 mpg tune.

I wouldn't think it would be necessary if you were already on very 2.0. I plan to try the same

I just am wondering when we will get "gearlock" function back. Really looking forward to it! I'm loving the 2.0F so far and cant wait to start playing around with it as a starting point in vFtuner.

I mean holds shift points like stock instead of affecting gear lock as the prev beta 2.0
