Damn! Now I'm second guessing myself. I could have sworn that there was a beta release before "2.0 Final" that had "ECT" as a performance mode.

Does anyone know the specifics of why the D/ect (performance) S (gear lock), and S/ECT (towing) was left out? Just curious. Were some or one of these causing the start stumble? I know they are supposed to be back later. Also I know what has been said about the start stumble, but can it be damaging to something? I loved that tune, and contemplate reinstalling it, but will wait if I should wait? Also does the most recent 2.0 with THX have OLE? Thanks

The current release is because people were being impatient and asking every hour when 2.0 was coming out or if it was cancelled.

the other features will be added at some point.

theres also a big update to vF coming

    20ft enclosed trailer with a fd3s rx7 inside

been towing on 1.05 for about 2 years now

will be towing on the current 2.0 tune soon
was hoping to have the 2.0 tune with gearlock + tow mode but will try as is for now
running the non-THX map atm but thinking of switching over

@OVTune - any idea on when the map change tune will come out?

Accoding to @OVTune, the final 2.0 with Perf/Gear Lock/Tow mode will be released through FM after FM has been updated.

The most recent 2.0 with THX has octane learning. If you’re on 87 or 89 flash a reg file.

So I messed up.. I have a 2020 04B80 AT and I just realized there are no tunes for it yet. On the OVtuned website it lists "2016-2020 Toyota Tacoma 3.5L" but it looks like there's nothing available yet in the Flash Manager that will actually download. :(

There are about 30 or 40 tunes for 04B80. Go to the download page.

I appreciate your response. I also am aware of what you replied. Can you or anyone add some answers to my other questions? Only if you know please. I have my own ideas. Was just hoping someone more techy than myself could help. I also at this point have no intention to purchase VF tuner. As long as the other options that were in 2.0 come back. Thanks again

Ditto..... feel same about 2.0 being my final tune. No plan on VF ...The beta I’m on now is pretty damn close for me, but I must have ECT and/or gear lock to satisfy my cravings.:burnrubber:

I don't think anyone besides OV knows the answer about damage with the stumble start but for liability sake, my guess is that if it could cause damage OV would've said "don't run this tune as it may cause damage". My general thought (personal opinion) also says that it's a momentary fueling or spark issue during startup, like only a fraction of a second, it doesn't affect driving at all so I was content running it even with the stumble.

I’m super tempted to go back to that tune with the stumble. It was a monster for my truck, loved it. When I switched to the current 2.0F I thought it would be a week or so before we’d get a new version similar to the beta with the start stumble resolved. I know these things move slower than we’d all like, but wishful thinking.

@OVTune , any risk running the start stumble beta?

while I don't see how the file could cause long term issues I do not recommend using the file(s) that have the start issue.

Thanks for the feedback. I’ll hold off.

The latest 2.0 premium stock 33 file is super smooth in terms of shift and driving. Good power, but not as strong as the performance tune with gear lock obviously. I’ll hold tight for the next release.
