If people just post on the forum, odds are nothing is going to happen. If you contact via zendesk, describe the issue, collect logs, it’ll get looked into.

some things are easy to track down, others not so much. Sometimes it may take a few sets of logs or mat may need some time to work on solving the issue.

the way to get things looked at is zendesk.

The thing is, I don't think you are in the minority.
I could be wrong, but people who are happy don't tend to complain

I’m not sure why people are always hesitant to send to zendesk and would rather just post about issues here...

see the following post from over a year ago

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...lopment-thread.495735/page-2376#post-21278046

for some reason people post on the forum, then get upset something doesn’t get looked at when they never sent in a ticket to zendesk.

I communicated with Mat about a week ago. I let him know that 04B04 had problems and that I thought that it felt more like stock and that the past few betas were MUCH better. I asked him to please look at the current 2.0 files to see if maybe there was a mistake made when transferring/compiling the files for distribution. He responded and said he would look into it, that Rafael had done the work, but he would check it.

Maybe 2.0 “complete” will be the one. Or-the twin turbo Tundra!

Bummed some of you are having learning issues. Hope that gets resolved.

In a way I’m glad to see the report of a tune running well at 500 miles, but poorly at 5,000 miles. I swear my truck drove fine when I test drove it, and didnt start acting silly til I’d had it for 6 months or so. Honestly feel deceived by toyota.

I’ve got about 500 miles on a tune I like for 04A61. Heres hoping it stays that way. Worst case I can reflash once a month or so, but that kinda defeats the point of buying a reliable toyota, doesn’t it?

I'm running the 2.0 Beta for 04B04, 4.88's with the hiccup (has the performance map switch) - went back to it from 2.0 final (no performance map). The hiccup tune has better tow power. No default back to funky shifting after several thousand miles. Like you I hope 2.0 final with performance is coming soon, and is the answer. If not - I will look at the Tundra with twin turbo, which is a V6 like our Tacoma's. I will also look at keeping the Tacoma and adding the Magnuson SC which will be CARB approved. Either way there will several thousand $ invested beyond what we payed for our current rides. GL.

FWIW, I suspect this has more to do with the varied behavior of this truck, even within the same ECU. There have been many reports of "same truck, same tune, different results" with these 3rd-gen Tacomas.
My 2017 04B04 has never shown any signs of "re-learning" the old behavior from a shift. If it had, I'd say something and I think you're presuming a bit much by implying a LOT of people (if not all) have this issue but are afraid to speak up. I've also never had more than a few days pass with no response to a ticket, but then to be fair, I think I've maybe sent in 3-4 since my initial purchase (2 were just requesting files).

BTW, not implying you're NOT having this issue, or that it's "user error". Just pointing out that there are plenty of us not having the issue at all ;)

Crazy to see such varied experiences truck to truck. Makes me think the learning logic is complicated enough that even toyota did not fully understand all the possible outcomes.

Does not give me confidence in the next gen tundra.

I have considered a Tundra myself, but would rather get a current gen. It seems like the focus on economy is killing new cars.

I have confidence the next gen Tundra will be a beast, but the V35 ECU calibration is quantum mechanics. It's nuts.
If you think the tacoma nanny state ECU is bad..lol. Everything on that twin turbo engine is electronic and torque modulated.

However, it will have a lot of power so it won't be bad tuning + bad drive train combo.

The tacoma has some 4D tables. (XYZ axises + data).

    The V35 has 5D and 6D tables.
Tables that are like 25x150 in size.
Imagine ignition is selected by RPM + load + boost psi + engine temp + current AFR
    Yikes

You're not exactly giving me a lot of confidence in the next gen Tundra, considering how bad they effed up the Tacoma

I think I’m glad i bought my 5.7 Tundra when i did... I’ll wait for you to solve this puzzle before jumping on that train. Surely adding a few more Ds wont cause any problems

I expect it will because the electronic motors provide instant torque.

@OVTune sorry that I haven't had a chance to test the v3 of the speed limiter tune yet. Flopped my samurai on its side on Sunday so didn't feel like messing with it to unhook it from the truck and flash another tune. I'll get it done today!
