Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

has anyone spent a good amount of time on the 2.0 premium/35s/with gears (not performance throttle) but came from the regular gas with these options?

can you really feel the extra power from the premium to justify the higher gas price? (and what is the power increase from reg to premium on. 2.0?)

also is it safe to assume mpg is better with the regular gas option?

 

Previously had an ‘07 AT Tacoma DCLB Pre-Runner. Over time the paint started to go and other small things started to pop up more frequently. Decided it was time to go. Never entertained the idea of a full size pickup or any other midsize.

 

Just now giving 2.0 a try. Are there any favorite tunes in this batch? I just loaded 2.0 reg stock, but considered trying the thx or premium versions.

Also, I read a post somewhere where someone said they were able to turn up their alternator output using vftuner. Is this right? This sounds like a good thing for my atm batteries. Are there other advantages of getting vftuner for those of us who aren't inclined to costumize tunes?

alternator adjustment via VFTuner software. Seems like the VFTuner software is the way to go if 2.0Final with performance options does not yield the desired results. I'm waiting to see. No idea when Mat will release these tunes.

 

If you dont want to get vF tuner, you could always find someone local willing to flash the AGM battery settings. But since it was only like $79, I just bought it, and glad I did.

Not yet, but trickling out for certain ECUs. ETA for AT is possibly this month, but not guaranteed.

 

So I haven't ventured into the VF Tune thread - has the AGM feature been released and is it fairly easy to update the existing latest (final/semi-final) AT mapping?

 

I think there's a walkthrough. But I don't believe there's a 2.0vf file available. I think it's just a stock tune. I could be wrong though. Either way it's easier for me to just throw on the charger once a month.

 

Folks have received 2.0 Base Full VFT Tune Packs. Those can be edited for the AGM voltage bump or whatever.

@Mooseditty17 is hitting the AT Base file mods hard.

Turn off “real time protection “ in windows defender. And allow the file in windows defender.

 

One of the the following:
Windows updates changed your system ID
AV quarantined files

 

Yes, and it's very easy to change the file.
