Man, I keep waiting for the performance/gearlock tune to finally be distributed before I start messing with VFTuner, but then all you jerks keep learning and making improvements on the current available tunes. I guess I should just call it and start following the VFTuner thread more closely so that I don't miss out on some of the things y'all are learning over there.

We've been abandoned buddy, for more lucrative prospects. U actually don't need full VF or to unlock with VF to flash mooses tune. I haven't really been keeping up on the VF thread but that's by design, I don't need to be on the bleeding edge, but when something gains enough popularity (beta tests) it'll eventually make its way to my truck haha

 

I’m getting my oil leak fixed. Got a 2020 Cement SR5 loaner for a week. Maybe I should tune this bitch! Only has 390 miles on it.

I do have to admit, it runs pretty good. Shifting is improved.

Or..... it’s used as a demo truck and the dealer sells a bunch of trucks to eventually disgruntled buyers.

 

Assume your oil leak is for the timing cover? If so, how long do they expect to have your truck? I'm still holding off on mine for the time being but will need to get it taken care of at some point while I still have (extended) warranty... just don't want to be without my truck for a week or more and I'm not super stoked about the dealer taking my truck apart to that level but it is what it is.

 

Yes. Timing chain cover leak. I decided to look at it after seeing the thread about it. I only have until October 30 till my power train warranty expires (5 yrs/60k). Mine wasn’t bad, but it was leaking. They said one week, storm is coming tomorrow, so they promised to keep it indoors if they close for a few days. Here’s a pic of the oil wet area.

I am scared of them pulling my engine, but I requested the master tech with 25 years experience and he said that he has done quite a few over the years. Should only really take 3 days. I also told them to change spark plugs while the engine was out.

 

Honestly the longer u wait the better. Cause you're getting a bunch of fluid flushes too haha.

 

I’d go look at mine to see if theres an oil leak but I’ve not seen anything on the ground and my power train warranty is long gone....

 

yeah, mine isn’t bad enough that it’s registering on the dipstick between oil changes which I always do at 5-6k and nothing on my garage floor, but I’m at 70k now and bought an extended warranty to 100k when I purchased new and confirmed this is covered as part of my “plan”

funny enough, I had an independent shop that specializes in Toyota/Lexus do my spark plugs and while they were at it I had them go ahead and go brake and lower steering fluid. After they did the work they sent me these pics encouraging me to get Toyota to fix it. Would have been nice to know in advance as the labor on the plugs would have been cheap or free when they already have it torn down to repair this...
