I don't have an expected date yet.
Yes it has been a while. Base version of 2.0 has been out for about 3 months though.

To be bluntly honest, and don't read too far into this, it's not stopping anything, but to be honest I do fear that we release it, and it will not be good enough, or a month later people will be asking for version 2.1.

Those of us who are following and wanting the final version know that this will be the last 2.0 tune from @OVTune We understand that there will be no more updates and that the final will not be perfect. Changes and improvements will come from vFTuner folks testing and improving upon what you have produced. It’s already happening!

If you could see your way clear to release 2.0 final any day now, a lot of us will go way very happy. :)

Honestly that wouldn’t surprise me one bit if that’s exactly what people did..

personally, I’d do a webinar on “how to make a performance tune” and let people make their own if they want one. Same with towing / eco / whatever.

Once people have a better understanding of vF, it’ll help people start coming up with their own tunes and sharing with the community.

    I have enjoyed Base 2.0 (04A61), no issues/complaints.
Will Performance 2.0 give us AT's Full Throttle in 1st Gear?
If you need your 04A61 2.0 Performance Tune tested PM me.

Holy moly this is a beast of a thread. I have a 17 MT and I tuned with OV 2 years ago. Flashed the 93 octane FOB tune and have had no complaints. I came back to TW to check and see if there is any updates or new tunes I should flash. I was also considering flashing a 91 octane tune. Seems like lots has happened and changes have been made since then. Can I still get new tune files and support the ov tune package I bought? This whole thread is super technical and entirely to long to read through and decipher. Can someone give me a quick summary on development or if there is anything better that 1.5 tune that I have?

yes. You can get 2.0 for your current ecu but here’s what I’d recommend

Update your truck to 04b14 following instructions in ecu update thread

update to vF tuner - link in first post of this thread

request via zen desk 04b14 tune pack

Enjoy having a completely new truck running better than ever before

if you want to tweak some things, check out @tonered vf thread

Shellshock you are the man. That is exactly the quick info I was looking for.

The update to vf tuner is the 79$ upgrade correct?

Yes sir (unless you have the original kit with dongle / USB key, then it’s $0)

If you have a reg key, it’s $79

Good idea, but then you are forcing people who are already tuned to buy the vFt when OVtune said they would not have to in order to get the 2.0 final,final,final....................MT users already have it.Seems fair that AT users should get it too.Yes,I purchased VFt and am running a member’s tune. Some will always complain, but too frickin’ bad. The deal was explained multiple times.Where else are you going to get a bunch of good guys working on a tune for your particular truck?

I’m agreeing with you, however, what is preventing @OVTune from releasing the final 2.0 for AT then moving on as he has said he would do? He’s done with in house tune development. He could just ignore any suggestions for a 2.1 and devote his attention solely to the vFTuner side of things.

    Release the Kraken-tune :boink:

@OVTune Mat, for what it’s worth, I feel a bit left behind in the tuning thread because for 1, I have no idea what ya’ll are talking about and for 2, I was was hoping to wait for final to use as a baseline before even attempting to change anything. Honestly, I was hoping most of what’s been talked about and done by users in that thread was going to be rolled up into your tune leaving me/us with less “fine tuning”.

Untlimayely, I’d like to humbly suggest releasing what you have so that those of us that expect to put our touch on your final can get on it before your tutorial
