I quoted the same post then requested that he release the 2.0 tune without further delay. A lot of us are not interested in DIY tuning and would really like to have closure on this 1.05 tune development thing.

I just really really really want a 5.29 tune with Gearlock. my current tune is perfect. It just needs Gearlock for Towing.

    04B31 5.29 33” Premium.
Isn't that the whole point of vftuner though?

I’m with you there. 2.0 Final was like a consolation prize after Mat came out and said we’re never getting the product we paid for (custom tuning by user data log submission).

I have tuned vehicles before from the base OEM code. Not interested in messing with it here. Tweaking a final performance tune is interesting but to make a real tune out of the “2.0 Final” that we have been provided is not something that I’m interested in investing my time into for a lightly modified pickup truck.

That tune is nice but it’s a base tune. It’s missing the performance aspect of the previous tunes. I’m currently on the 5.29 beta that you could get on flash manager. It’s close but it needs the speed limiter removed. If there was no speed limiter on this tune and gear lock it would be solid.

When Mat posted the above on August 13th, I figured it would not be done by the end of September. Which was not a deadline or a promised release date and I am ok with that. From August 13th to the end of September was 7 more weeks on what I assume was already in progress (since it was supposed to be done last December). So I would imagine at the end of September they should have put a huge dent in it. Before the end of October will will be (+4 weeks) 11 more weeks. If this is what @Rafael@OVTune is working on, I can't imagine it should be to much longer.

While we will NEVER get this info (and shouldn’t), I would be super interested in how much of each work day is spent on finishing 2.0 vs. the new projects such as turbos and VFTuner. My bet would be that little to no time is spent on 2.0 at this point or has been spent on 2.0 since June.

I bet there are quite a few people like me who are waiting for the final 2.0 with map switching and performance tune who will probably also by VF Tuner as well after testing the final 2.0, so this might boost OVTUNE’s sales for the year a little. It can’t hurt, right??

    @OVTune
    Release the horsepower!!!
If it's .Vft format, we can handle the rest.

Most of it was finished months ago.

We simply aren't ready for release yet. There are some things to take care of first.

I have read enough here not to expect much. Can you imagine if Mat preordered a new phone that was supposed to be released around Christmas 2019. He wasn't interested in the current phone, so a couple of weeks before the release date he made that preorder to get the latest and greatest. How do you think Mat would feel by now hearing it is still not ready for release and being told "You can use one of our older phones, be patient".

Here is what I posted on June 30th.

"Only I can say what I did or did not purchase. I will tell you what I did purchase. I have been following this thread very closely since just after the release of 1.05. I also followed the OV Tune website very closely. I had zero intention of purchasing or installing 1.05 or any of the beta tunes. With the announcement of 2.0 Final being released around Christmas time 2019, I decided to purchase the Flash Kit earlier in December of 2019 so I would be all ready for the 2.0 Final release. I have waited patiently for what was recently released and will continue to wait patiently for what will be released next. So what did I purchase? I purchased 2.0 Final and vF Tuner."

I am still patiently waiting and not speaking out often.

2.0 final has been released already.

There are separate options to 2.0 final that has not, that's it.
2.0, in current form, is the final.

It's not really different than before we we were able to tune for gears.
Tunes before gear modification were still finals, but when gears became possible, it became an option.

I think people are also skipping that the options I'm talking about are being done in / out of VF at the same time. For good reason. Because I'm quite sure once those options are released, give it a few weeks, and we will start seeing "when is 2.1" etc.

Also, 2.0 with those options has been setup since back in the beta days where everyone was arguing over port injection.

So I had to go back and scrap a bunch of work because a few people wanted everyone to think that the tune (a test tune at that) would cause your engine to gum the intake valves almost immediately.

It was easier for me to just scrap it vs the thought at months worth of arguing over how much port injection is required.

Like you I did not preorder the base phone. We both bought the one with all the bells and whistles.

honestly I am good with what you have done for us and have absolutely no reason to get their TSB update = I doubt seriously they will achieve what you have done and VFT software makes their effort relevant only for modifying what you have provided IF their TSB provides any true improvement.

don't do the TSB - just wait and see what comes from it and then mod your ecu with your cashed-in vft tuner credits. Simple.

don't do it - Just wait for Mat to see what the TSB's really affect - he will let us know and you can make equal changes via vf tune sottware if there and any real and significant improvements.
