I have explained in here multiple times why we haven't released it yet. Turbos and VF credits have nothing to do with it.

I also explained in great detail why it didn't originally release December 2019.
It's comments like these that keep us out of this thread. Just completely ignoring everything we have said as to why it isn't out yet.

Simply put it will be released when we are good and ready to release it.
When is that? That's when everything is working, tested, and has a seamless way for people to change options in vF Tuner for it.

Why? Because I can one thousand percent guarantee it will be just like every other release.
Day 1: this is great, nice!
Week 1: hmm feels like it shifts early from x to y
Week 2: dozens of people agreeing
    Week 3: when's 2.1?

And I'm not doing any, any updates after 2.0 full option release, so an easy path in vf tuner needs to be setup ahead of time to accommodate.

Edit* I want to include that if the delay is for good reason I think it's necessary, and we have changed when we will release that for multiple good reasons.
Also vF Tuner wasn't even a thing until covid happened.

    Good to know this info.

Everyone needs to keep in mind we were told months ago that this would be the exact case, getting 2.0 performance was gonna take longer and we have no concrete date, it has always been like this.

Asking more is not gonna help unfortunately, I really want to try it too but it is what it is. i think we can all agree that 2.1 won't be happening and it was never promised so everyone will have to accept 2.0 perf as is when it come out:thumbsup:

I'm been toying with getting a Tundra and even had one for a few weeks so really want to compare it to the Taco at it's full potential and lighter tires.. will likely move back to one of the higher octane betas in the meantime or does current 2.0 high Octane release also produce more power?

Hey guys, A061 2018 here. Just got the low pressure fuel pump recall in the mail today. I think it was discussed on here previously but has anyone had it done yet? If so did they reflash the truck? Thanks.

Mat, i know you have valid reasons for not releasing the final 2.0 and last update to the 3.5l tacoma 3rd gen platform but, i hope you can see, some of the people see all the "new things" being completed, offered, and coming from ovtune, and wonder if you have too many irons in the fire, and this 3rd gen auto trans project just isnt a priority any longer.

i understand you are frustrated with our group, the tune and all the issues you have been through over the last year but, your clients, and customers are also frustrated. this isnt a complaint, or to poke at you, just an observation.

Additionally, I'm not looking for more; I'm just looking for a final resolution. If VFTuner is the direction that this company is moving, that's fine. And honestly, I think VFTuner has incredible potential. I'm excited to jump in and start learning. Because of that, I would like to see the OVTune flash kit reach it's final form so that we can all just move on. As someone said earlier, it's the "dangling carrot" effect of the 2.0 performance map switch/ gearlock tune that seems to have a lot of people riled up. We know the tune is out there and completed, but waiting for the means of distribution for months has become frustrating.

Whether people like the tune or not, at least we know it is the final tune. No more waiting around. Either we choose to accept one of the premade tunes that already exist, or we start tinkering in VFTuner. The promise of something better coming along won't be hanging over our head any more, which will be a relief.

You could enlist @Mooseditty17 assistance to create a tune with the throttle going 100% with a feather

This. 100% this. @OVTune you have left us with an unfinished product for the better part of a year while you release new products (one of which has made ours effectively obsolete before it is even done).

The bottom line is Turbos and VFTuner are the reasons that 2.0 Final is not finished and released. There are only 24 hours in a day and unless you have multiple employees testing things and developing things you made a conscious decision to develop and test VFT and Turbos instead of finishing 2.0.

I’m just a dumb electrician probably speaking out of turn but *I think* that as he brings more capability to VF, he realizes how much better the final tune can be. Maybe he’s integrating the findings that he comes across into the evolving final tune (the longer we wait, the better the tune). If this this is the case, I’d be happy to take the tune as it is now and pick up where it was left off by using VF. This way, I can jump into customization of my own without the hesitancy of thinking the final tune is around the corner and all my work is somewhat in vein.

Multiple things stopped part of 2.0.
    Fuel pump recalls,
    new ECU IDs,
    COVID,
redoing a ton of it due to bickering on the forum,
    having a child,
    etc.

I've already explained that implementing it into vF Tuner at the same time is a requirement for release. That's no secret. There is a purpose. So day 1 when someone isn't happy (which will happen) I can direct them straight to vF Tuner.

I don't keep any of this secret and am always upfront with what is going on. I'm truly not here to argue or to just string things alone indefinitely. The purpose of what I am doing is so that we don't have to ever do it again, not next year or in 5 years.

I got the recall notice yesterday. Called for my appointment and she says there will be a software update. I'm assuming it is to 04B33 that was mentioned in this thread. They are ordering the pump then will schedule the service. I'm not looking forward to this. I have never once had a positive dealership service experience and I avoid ever going in for any reason after driving the new truck off the lot.

I rarely check the thread anymore. Periodically just to see if maybe the 2.0 performance version is released or not yet. When I do, I still typically see the same comments that lean towards more negativity.

Personally, I’m a 2019 owner and seems as though the 2019s have been a headache for the developer(s). They’re much more intelligent than I am so I let them do their thing. I’m very thankful that 2.0 I run now is fully functional. I never forgot that I purchased the tune for better gear shifting and the tune has accomplished that hands down.

The tune, for my truck, was never fully functional until this last tune was released. I can’t speak for everyone here but I’m thankful I have a tune that works, albeit there is something left on the table for one final improvement in the performance version. I still don’t think the performance version of the tune is that huge of a difference though because I always ran the performance tunes in beta form and they didn’t have ‘that much’ noticeable difference in power but there was a little.

I think ski said it best in his comment above and very level headed from the consumer side. Each consumer wants what they paid for or were thinking that was coming. One last thing, I’m also very thankful I’m not a turbo kit consumer. They’re still waiting and spent way more than we did for the tune. Even though turbos aren’t a concern for every tune purchaser, they still see what’s posted and there are a lot of things providing profit, but none are completed. However, tune owners don’t see completion in their product because they compare themselves to manual transmission owners who are completed.

Keep working on getting better, I truly think one day things will settle and then people can purchase and not have a massive wait. Our world has things at the click of a button now and that’s just the expectations despite a new product.

    I appreciate everyones input.
one thing to clear up, if you think we are out making profits on our turbo kits, the batch we are doing did not get us a single cent profit, and the people who purchased know that. Every single kit put us negative, but it was expected.

Id imagine the other 2.0 release being delayed also because you finding more features/tuning involved. Like for instance first gear full throttle response ? Id rather wait longer to have everything in the next package of 2.0 then miss a couple things. Id love to see and use the full 1st gear throttle response !

Throttle limits 1-6. Take the second value on up and make it them all 100. Bam! 100% throttle with nominal pedal input. Instead of a throttle, it'll be like an on/off switch! If the throttle request to Airload was also made linear, and all upshifts increased around 125 -130% , I'd imagine it could be driven on a frozen pond or maybe in a real slick mud hole. That's if the truck doesn't go into limp mode.

(PS. I do NOT endorse this tune :D)

EDIT: Post results if an attempt is made to run these adjustments
