I’m satisfied with the OVTune “tsb”. If hes supporting 2021s you will be ok. But i would stick with the stick.

because the original 2016 tune was a HORRIBLE tune. They've had years to make a better starting point by now.

There aren’t enough words to describe how bad 04b00 is

I moved from 04B03 --> 04 when I first bought my recycled rig and it made a noticeable difference to throttle pedal response. I think you missed out on what we are able to do now that VFTune is here @Shellshock :boink:

04B03 was a nightmare before I moved up to 04B04...I can only imagine how terrible 04B00 was!

I survived, barely. It took a couple TSBs and 2 years of OVTune to put a smile back on my face w/r/t the engine and tranny. Thank God everything else about the truck and sticking to my original decision of keeping it until it dies carried me through lol

I guess you never hit the gas to pull into traffic only to have it stumble and take a few seconds to accelerate.....not fun.

I've been on both ecu versions, only moved up to 04B04 for tuning purposes but nope, never had that happen but it would suck.

That's good......just goes to show how different each truck is even running the same ecu version.

I personally thought there was a huge difference between 04B02 and 04B04. Almost as good as going from O4 to OV's 2.0.

"Some people think" that a professional tuner's job is to identify exactly what that difference is, assuming it exists. And at least explain it.

For my truck, I saw a big difference between 04B03 and 04B04.

I don’t put this burden on Mat. This solely lies on Toyota. There are probably several reasons including transmissions that were low on fluid, faulty fuel pumps and who know what else. Identical trucks running the same firmware should perform similarly if there are no other modifications, but that routinely is not the case with the various Gen3 Tacomas.

I successfully flashed a couple times and was going to flash again since I got 5.29 gears installed. Has anyone run into this error? I've swapped USB cables and confirmed AntiVirus is off. Any input would greatly be appreciated.

    Toyota Flash Tool error:
Unable to use selected interface (J2534: Tantrix Inc. Open Port 2.0 J2534 ISO/CAN/VPW/PWM. Check to see if its in use or used by other applications)

Have you tried reloading your Tractix Drivers_?

I'm assuming your using FM ....... you may also want to update the FM .... ?
