It takes about 5 mins to flash.

I am also very curious to see what they quoted you to flash the truck.

Yesterday I updated a guy, flashed OVT, and then did TS customizations in under 10-15 mins, including time spent just talking about what I was doing and whatever he wanted

Yep. It is a half hour with chatting, the idle time, and a test drive. I was considering sitting around time at this shop.

Yep. Typically 10-15 for TSB + Tune.

Just flashing the tune is <5 minutes.

    Plus 10 minute idle.

A bit possibly, off the site it’s $550 Canadian shipped to the door for a vForest Tuner Software + Flash Cable.

Not familiar with tuning, and doing TSB at the same time etc.

I might be confused. Are you buying vF and taking to the shop or is the shop just flashing a tune for you?

TSB flashes are generally a courtesy thing. At least in my mind.

I mean I'd put a TSB on someones truck just to help them out.

Depending on your location in BC, you might want to have a quick chat with @Saeros ?

agreed. For that price, buy VFtuner yourself with tunepack (on sale right now)
TSBs are free at the dealership

$800 seems quite steep if you're not walking out the door with the hardware/license in hand. For about $100CAD more, you get that.

I'm in Canada, bought the tools, did it myself.
It's not particularly hard, but if you really don't want to do it, I guess you have pay someone the coin. I guess you do "save" $100, if you are a set it and forget it guy.

I was thinking the same thing, $800 a pop is quite the return on investment.
I thought I read that members were doing it for others for around $200US.

I have a handheld, so no tuning business startup for me.

Dang what vultures. I OVTuned a local guys Tacoma for $50 lol and he gave me an extra $20 because I had to reinstall TS to get him to 04B04 first.

They are supplying everything. Simply drop off stock truck and pick up with tune of your choice. Switching to future tunes is free.

Oof. Folks are offering what your getting for about 1/3 the price.

Do be aware that only the 2.0 Base tune is out. So you will have to back at least one more time for the 2.0 Final release.

    Good luck.

you seem set on paying the $800. I suppose they priced it "just under" what doing it yourself would be. But you don't own anything (no hardware, no licence). So, if you're a set it and forget it guy, I guess it could make sense. Or if you don't mind going to the shop every time you wanted to try a tune. Maybe even more sense if you don't already own a laptop, and that factored into the overall cost.

But for me, having my own hardware in hand, and flash any tune I wanted to try, at my leisure, in my own garage, it was worth it to do it myself. If you move, you're SOL. YMMV

    You're welcome!

I know that I have seen posts from folks in AB, but the names are not coming to mind.

I'm in Alberta. I'm guessing you're talking about Krave Automotive?
