I still wish I got what was sold to me. Would have alleviated all of this 2.0 nonsense all together.

No, at the time that I purchased my flash kit what we were purchasing was custom tuning by OVTune based on user submitted logs. That went away. It is what it is at this point. I highly doubt I will still own this truck at the point that the real 2.0 Final, full featured, performance tune is released.

But 2.0 F was the result of that exact process you describe??

Ovtuned took all that feedback, and that is what they came up with. The end (for now)

Confused as to what more you want? You just seem dissatisfied that the outcome wasn't what YOU wanted.

If you want something different than the result of that process, ovtuned provided VFT.

No, it was supposed to be my logs, for my truck, sent in to get a custom tune for my truck. Not Joe's truck and opinion from Deleware and Fred's truck and opinion from Colorado. Vf was also not provided, we were allowed to purchase it.

Edit: this has been hashed out multiple times already. OVT flat out said they couldn't (wouldn't) do it because it was too much work.

Huh. I guess i missed the part that OVTUNED was going to personally and individually tune every one of the hundreds (?thousands) of trucks running it.
If that is the case, I stand corrected, my apologies. Do you have a link to that in the product you were sold?

    Re: purchase VFT.
Fair enough. I guess I didn't factor in that $79 is nominal IMO, but perhaps not everyone feels that way.
But that doesn't change that a pre-VFT customers are already provided the latest tune without purchasing VFT.
Personally altering it is a option, not a requirement.

Ok....can someone catch me up on the relevant stuff. I understand that VFT is the new high speed stuff. I still have the P5f, am I still able to use this? I will need to re-flash to the 5.29 gear ratio soon an want to ensure I still can. Have the bells an whistles been released to complete the 2.0?? If I missed anything else please feel free to update me on that as well.
    Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately I do not have a link and Mat has changed his website so many times since I purchased the "1x Tacoma 3.5L Custom ECU/TCU Tuning Package - 2018-2019 Automatic" back in early 2019 that the cached site services don't have anything from his site at that time. It never occurred to me to save the website documentation as I never thought that we would be in this position today. It certainly appears to me that Mat was aware of what he was selling and unfortunately was not able to provide:

I will say that this post was made in January 2019 which was just before I bought my tune package:

Unfortunately it seems that the custom aspect of the tune was not removed from his website before I made my purchase.

Edit: I just re-read that last post that I quoted and it looks like custom tuning was still a thing at that point but he wanted you to start with a base tune (1.05 at the time) and then he would adjust from there.

it was a mistake of not updating our website to reflect changes we had to make.

it isn't that we don't want to, it's just that it's feasibly impossible to do. We made the change very early on once we realized this.

Thanks @therealprotaco for the links, appreciate the work you put into that.

It appears the last reference in your list to doing this is from 2017, so I suppose the ones with a beef would be the owners of the product around then. Presumably these are dongle owners, which would have been given VFT for free.

However, it looks like Ovtuned updated their website later, so I get your point.

The Jan 2019 post ovtuned quote "Just so everyone understands, individual custom tuning of every single truck by log, adjust, log, adjust, log, adjust, log adjust, is simply not going to be possible"

In the face of an impossible situation, they came up with VFT.

I guess we're back to the $79, to get what you want (plus modification time)

Be sure to check your Spam folder. Master Keys, REG files, and support messages have been ending up there.

I'm right there with you, and I feel like asking questions like, "when is 2.0 final with gear lock coming out" just piss people off!

But I do believe OVTune is really trying their best to establish a product line in a very dynamic industry. Society is becoming less and less patient in general. I do understand people's frustration - I'm no Luddite, but I am confused with the process and program changes due to no real time to invest in following the threads on a daily basis and OVTune is currently too busy to answer general questions.

I still am pretty satisfied with the 19800 tune and won't reflash until I am clear on the process required to get the newest tune with the right gears, tire size, catless dump tubes, AND gear lock.
