Is 2.0 final with performance and map switching ever coming? Or did we get duped? Seems like priorities are elsewhere instead of what was promised. I’m usually patient but come on...

I have explained in this thread probably 10+ times exactly how and when it will release.

    I'll say it again.
Once we have all options, setup, code, etc ready in vF Tuner for all different options for that version, then it will.

That way, and specifically for this reason, the day we release it nobody can turn around on us and say we didn't give them what they want. It will be entirely up to the user to customize it exactly how they want it.
That includes guides on how to setup things.

it will take as long as it takes, and we don't plan on posting a release date. This truck has 4 more years of life left. Much to come.

you can follow this thread for progress

Unfortunately everyone wants it now. Today’s world everything is at the click of a button and less than 3 days later product is delivered. So consumer expectations are at an all time high.

I’m extremely patient so take your time. Hopefully not 4 years of course :). Regardless though I feel soon as the fuel pump recall starts rolling out as actual repairs we’ll likely see the performance final tune. The consumer likely doesn’t think of the consequences the company could be liable for in the event something catastrophic happens to the tuned truck. Imagine the size of lawsuit the ovtune company could be involved in if the consumer chose to pursue that route of litigation. One successful lawsuit vs a small company where someone were to die in an accident and they find fault in the custom tuning, small company folds.

This info above could be something delaying the product being distributed and would definitely be something I’d delay it for. Even if every 2019+ owner demanded a refund he’d still be in better shape than one successful lawsuit vs his small company.

Be safe and enjoy the holidays. Pretty sure everyone’s excited to see the final performance tune just as I am but despite the tune not being out for us AT owners, we do have a working base tune for now. If that’s not good enough, 2016-2018 owners can pick from many prior tunes that were performance based and use them in the mean time. 2019 owners have never seen a working performance tune to this date that wasn’t riddled with bugs. Be glad when it’s all over though!

    Enjoy the holidays folks!

Most people don't think of those things.

I get it though. I am an impatient person myself. So I understand where they are coming from.

lawsuits such as this are always a worry. But Toyota is still trying to fix their tune 4+ years later and the code is a mess. I bet anyone with disassembly knowledge + EFI knowledge would have a field day with scrutinizing Toyotas calibration code.

Just consider that Toyota put out a NEW "Driving enhancement" TSB not that long ago (04B33).. and they have an entire team of engineers + every available resource.
Then consider how fast I can work having none of that.

Not to mention that the latest version still doesn't have a great engine tune for a truck. They refuse to fix the bottom end.

The tune is still the only answer for that.

indeed. I’m so glad I don’t do social media except for my businesses, otherwise I would be so use to the glamor and superficiality of me me me.

SM creates the worst in people and the reality of expectations...,but I digress

I've been tip toeing around the need for SM at our company. It certainly won't be me touching it though.

Maybe it has been answered before, i just dont get it. Those of us who bought the tune pack will get new packs with features included as it was sent after the purchase or is it gonna be released as a "tune it yourself just pick the features you want" and thats all?

Im sure im not the only one who doesnt care a bit to learn vftuner or learning tuning in general, i may be wrong but that's not the product i bought.

I'm not sure what your question is?
If you bought a tune pack, you get the tunes you requested, you upload them to your truck (through VFTuner)
You don't need to change anything in VFTuner, or know anything about tuning. Just need to know how to use a computer

Yes i know how the flashing works, im already running 2.0 final, but im referring to the newer release with the new features. Is it gonna be ready to flash files or Mat meant that each one has to edit and add the features youd like to the 2.0 Final files i already have? Cause im not interested in editing the files myself.

Bought the products required to flash OVT Tune pack for my ID.

What i meant is, i didnt buy it to tune it myself, just flash and go, be happy with the outcome. i was clear on that.
Vftuner is a nice to have, but if it becomes required for you to edit your own files to enjoy the newer features in the future, that is not the product advertised nor it is stated that way.

I would've passed on for sure

    that's why we are confused

you received what you bought? a tune pack and the means to flash it.
the new features are for the vftuner. if you don't want to use them, that's up to you - no one is forcing you to.

you weren't clear, or else your question would be answered. Still don't know what your question is, TBH?

Seems like he bought the Cable and the license to install tunes for his ECU using P5 Flash. Now it seems the Performance & Gear Lock for the 2.0 Final will only be released under a VF Tuner format. So what he is complaining about is that Mat will not release Performance and Gear lock for the Final 2.0 in P5 Flash. He will need to download VF Tuner and use it to install the 2.0 Performance w/ Gear Lock. I think he thinks he will need to modify a 2.0 tune to add the Performance and gear lock but it should be available in VF tuner when Mat releases it without him having to do any work with VF Tuner except for installing it into his truck with the cable and laptop that he already has. I could be wrong. It's 2020. It's also Friday and I don't care. Have a great Weeknd!

That's a lot of inference and filling in holes that wasn't in the question. But yes, if that is what he meant, then you gave him the answer (see, TW is helpful)

We don't even know if that answer is correct yet. Perhaps "performance" +/- gearlock may be released in a canned tune (for people that previously bought tune packs) - we don't know that yet

Not specific to the last question...but I guess I've always been confused as to what people expect?
The product was sold as including free updates. The last update is 2.0 Final.
There are currently no other updates available
IF and WHEN another update is available, it will be a bonus and free - be thankful that OVTUNED may be working on it.
But they are not required to from what I read and bought.
Even then, people will bitch when it doesn't have what "they want"

If you want a performance tune NOW or specific features - then make it. Or contact one of the other TW members sharing their versions in the other thread. They are helpful and kindly share their experience and their tunes.
If you don't want to use VFTuner for tuning - then don't.

Heck, I don't even own VFTuner. I use a handheld.
I received what I paid for - tunes, the latest update, and the means to flash it (yes, I know, that doesn't include the $79 for legacy users - perhaps that is the issue).
It just seems that others think they bought something else, minus the individual custom tuning discussion a number of pages back.
