do you even know what a "Karen" is?

My post was about being tired of all the complainers on this thread
Karen = the complainer, usually in an unjustified or entitled manner (sound familiar?)
The 98% happy people just watch, dumbfounded, by the bitching of the 2%, saying WTF is wrong with these people?
I'm learning (and should know better), that you can't fix that.

    you're projecting.

hopefully the ovtune forum is better, as this place is a cluster-f, fueled by the 2%

I've been running OVTune 2.0 (04A60_Premium_Stock_Thx.p5f) for about three months. It totally transformed my truck for the better. Very very happy with OVTune. Better power, drivability, and towing all with no drawbacks.

Matt, Happy New Year from us quiet happy customers.

Ok not reading 3500 pages but have read about 50. I have a 2019 stock Tacoma (3" lift) never had a flash or anything done to my knowledge. I was confused when I started and real confused now so I'm going ask some stupid newbie questions to flashing. I don't like the under powered response or constant shift points going up hills. Should I get this thing flashed? If so what should I buy? I live in Arkansas so nobody on the list to do it so I will have to learn. I have a Mac Air and not very computer literate.

When people are talking about TSB tunes what are they talking about?
When we take our trucks in to the dealerships are they doing something to our ECU's that are messing up the flashes we have installed. Like I said I am a newbie to this stuff and trying to learn. I'm sure your answers will bring on more questions. Rick

    Rick,
You will want to flash a tune to better your ride.
Toyota has come out with TSBs to fix some issues in the ecus. The 2019 recently received one... so IF they come out with a new one and IF they actually out it on your truck, it overwrites the ecu (and any tune you had). This is usually helpful though because they make improvements, and then @OVTune wpuld subsequently work on making new tunes for that new ecu id.

Buy a tactrix cable, buy vftuner, and buy a tunepack (there is a vftuner+cable bundle you can get). The tunepack has the professionally done tunes from @OVTune

Take your time and read on here about how to make changes, also @OVTune is moving a lot of info to just the forums on his website -- webinars will be forthcoming.

I'm interested in learning which ECU rev my 2021 is- it's not good. I'll even say it's the worst tuned vehicle I've ever owned, including my 2002 WRX (took care of that myself..thank you RomRaider and ECUFlash).

I made my opinion on Toyota's tuning of a "modern" truck known when they asked (hopefully they won't fire me, lol).

Kudos to OVtune. I'll be a customer when I learn more about it.

As far as we know, ATs are 04C20 and MTs are 04C30. There is also 04C00 for what we are guessing is Mexican market ATs.

I'm assuming my vin "3TYSxxxx.." means Mexican market?

I need to figure out how to pull my ECU rev.

Starting with a 3 means it was made in mexico, doesn't necessarily mean it's got a SA/MX ECU unless you purchased it there. If you bought it in the US or Canukland, you have one of the ECU versions commonly discussed here

So I’ve been running around on 04B33 TSB. 35’s. 5.29. Heavy truck. Initially it was good. But after over 100 miles on the TAB it turned into poo. Sloppy shifts. Tries to eat 6th gear right away. Anyways. Not worth it for trucks that are modded.

I’m still waiting on credits (cough cough @OVTune) to adjust 33 vft files. But I did flash to 2.0 just today and will put about 50 miles on it tonight. But just around my neighborhood it feels so much better than Toyota’s TSB.

Just curious how do you tell if your ECU is supported? Don’t want to buy the VF tuner and tune pack if I can’t use it.

I don't not know, but a VIN decoder could tell you for sure.

Some OBD apps like Carista or OBD Fusion can tell you. Some all in one, autoparts store OBD scanners can tell you also.

I have a question that hopefully someone can answer.

I had flashed an 87 performance tune when I had 04A70. Finally had some time to update to 04A71 today (TSB). Going back into the Flash Manager, after selecting update, I am unable to download any new tunes at all. Not sure if this is now disabled due to the new vF Tuner. Just gives me: Error downloading file C:location...file name etc. Looking here: https://vftuner.com/blogs/news/tacoma-2-0-final-auto-release, maybe there is a package file with all the tunes for my ECU version in one spot but I cannot find it on that page. That link may be specific to vF Tuner.

What am I doing wrong? Is there a link with a package somewhere that I am missing or is my Flash Manager busted and not able to download tunes? I already uninstalled and reinstalled Flash Manager (then updated it).

Flash manager is no longer supported. You need to update to VFTune. Free for OG dongle users, $79 for reg key users. You will get VFT files for your ECM with the upgrade.

You suspicion is correct. All tunes have been pulled from FM and the News section. OVT is also closed until the 01.04.2021. At that time you will be able to request a Tune Pack.

Shouldn’t it be 04C20 for the ‘21 he asked about?
