I had hoped to post up the stuff that I know, but a couple things have slowed me down.

I will apologize up front that the AT stuff is an absolute mystery to me. My knowledge is limited to what I messed with and posted in the Perf and Tuning forum here. I haven't touched anything since for a couple reasons. The biggest is that my edited tune is just making me happy. The other is that there are a couple more vF features coming, so I am just waiting on those before making more edits.

Maybe dumb question. 2016 AT, 04b04! Currently on final 2.0. Am I suppose to update to a newer tsb? Or am I good?

04B04 is the latest available. I wouldn't be surprised if another update popped up though, similar to the one that the 2016 / 2017 MTs got.

What do you mean by “lose ECT”? The only thing I use ECT for was towing. So is it no longer useful for towing? Or do you just not get the same boost to throttle response?

No, you actually lose a driveable ECT because you have to set all the shift points in ECT to the low values. When you set up a tune with gearlock, ECT is ONLY used with gearlock (S mod+ECT). If you press ECT without being in S mode it will upshift but will NOT downshift until you are going very slow.

Glad to read 04B04 is still current, on that myself and running 2.0 from June. I bought the OVTune Flash Kit just last year (less than a year ago still) and waded through some of the 2.0 betas since I never tried 1.x versions. Very happy with it on 91 stock, but, I miss the gear lock feature and map switching from the beta that had the startup stumbles.

There was originally a plan to update the 2.0 final to have those right? Just hasn't come down the pipeline or would I be better off paying the $80 to move on over to VF Tuner? Haven't flashed anything in 6+ months and I just moved from a 2013 MacBook Pro to a 2020 with an M1 chip - so - no more Parallels/X86-64 Windows VM for me to run the flash software on. I've got a spare Win 10 laptop I can use but I'm sure I'll need a new reg key. Just thinking ahead if the registration stuff goes away and I can simply buy VF when it's next version comes out and save a lot of email time I'd be fine with that.

But if there is a 2.0 Final with Gear lock and map switching. I'd love to do that, simple, already have the kit, and won't have to re-learn flashing or VF though I'm sure there's not that much to it for using pre-made tunes.

Thanks all! Haven't been on here much with all the stuff going on last year.

Yes. Those features will in the 2.0 Final release that is not out yet. It look like you will need vF for the final release as the options like GearLock will need to be picked to create the file.

    It should be pretty easy.

You're existing REG file will work with the vF upgrade on the same computer.

Keep any eye out in the vF thread or at the vFTuner.com forum as Mat is getting ready for the release.

Excellent, thank you! And yes, since my current "computer" has just been a virtual machine it's survived moving from one Mac to another since the VM is the same I've not had to re-register thus far. I might just throw that same VM on another Intel Mac and call it a day since I don't flash super regularly. But if vF will be needed for the full tune pack of 2.0 final with options to select then I'll just go that route. Good to hear it'll be available.

Speaking of which how do we go get it for the advertised $79 or whatnot for flash kit owners? I got my flash kit less than a year ago and then directly after I got it everything started moving to vF. I see the product page but was hoping for an option on there for flash kit owners, though we're probably getting to be in the minority now. Or just email Mat/Zendesk and go that way. Just want to make sure I do it right and am all compliant and helping support Mat and the community using vF. Signed up on the forum for future developments/releases too!

    Future Brett editing here: https://vftuner.com/products/vforest-tuner-for-tacoma-flash-kit-owners?variant=31765448884311

Found it! Thanks "$79" search result!

    Nice!

Supposedly registering is going to get easier also.

That is the upgrade page that you need.

We are expecting this stuff to release with version 1.3.0

but we would like everyone to get fully updated to 1.2.7.8 if possible.

The 2.0 is much better than the TSB.
    I recommend.

and the file that is on the AT tune thread under 04B33 is really good.

I downloaded 1.2.7.8 and reflashed a tune. I received several error message that tune load failed. The message said don't turn off power do yo want to try again YES or NO? I tried a least 6 times and it failed to load at different time in the flash. I cussed and turn off the truck and tried again...finally took! Has anyone else had this issue?

Edit: used 1.2.7.5 several times NO issue. 04B04 ECU...Battery 12.2
