Try clearing dtc. Sometimes mine acts up takes a lot of trys and cycling of ignition to get it to take.

I would try to unplug the cable, reboot the laptop, turn ignition on then connect the cable, hit identify and try to flash.

Hit identify 3 times, on the third round it finally identified it despite having been already previously identified. Then tried to Flash it, first time didn't work, turned ignition off then on, and flash worked successfully. Now I try to start the truck and it won't start, just ignition turns over....soo close!

    Try clearing DTC's again.

And be sure to turn off the truck after flashing.

If it was successful you will notice the difference right away. Night and day on my 2018 TRD OR AT.

    Read is locked.
Most my unsuccessful flashes were related to comm issues. I would've shit bricks if the truck would not start...

    Hello all,

I’m wanting to update my 2018 from 04A60 to 04A61. What is the procedure for doing this with OVTune? I have techstream. Can I flash 04A61 on top of 04A60 that has OVTune? Did I need to flash to stock 04A60 first?

Also will I need to buy credits from OVTune to unlock the tune packs for 04A61?

Thanks in advance for the help.

How do I apply a TSB?
Everything you need is found here, thanks to @tonered

OVtune does not do tsb's. Techstream does that. Do the TSB first, then OVTune with the updated ECU.

Just two steps. Flash the TSB to 04A61, then flash the 04A61 vF Tune that you want.

I already have OVTune on 04A60. Didn’t realize it wasn’t the newest ECU when I got OVTune.

Is there a way to download the 04A61 OVtune files?

You’d need to message zendesk for new files
