Sounds good, everything seems good, truck drives really nice so far.

Incorrect. THX doesn’t affect the tip in. It makes the throttle more responsive when you’re moving at speed. So you don’t have to press the gas hard to get a response

When you flash the OVtune does it usually remove the speed limiter? My truck is geared to 4:88. Limiter is still in place. And would it correct my speedometer if I choose the correct tune?

That just means that the limiter was never raised to begin with.

Or that you were flashed with a map that raised it, and then flashed one that had no such edit

Ok I guess I just assumed when I flashed the 33 inch tires and 4:88 gear tune that it would remove the limiter and correct the speedo.

Speedo doesn't get corrected with OVTune.

Unfortunately not... Would have made sense to adjust the vehicle max speed, but it's unchanged. Really easy to adjust though.

Is that something that can be done with VFtuner? How would one go about changing that?

Purchased everything Friday 2/19. Received my tunes 3/1. Updated my ECU from 04A60 to 04A61 and flashed the premium tune for stock tire sizes tonight. I’ve only done a couple of short drives on the tune, but holy shit. This is exactly how these trucks should have been tuned from the factory. I got on the pedal pretty hard a couple of times and was absolutely blown away at the difference. For normal light footed driving, the shift points are dead on where they should be. @OVTune you are a legend!

By changing the value in Vehicle max speed global. The value is in kph, you'll need to convert to mph. I typically use 225 as my value.

Caution, you may not be able to stop now. I've been flashing edits once a week for 6 months now on top of the 2.0 tune...

Would I have to purchase more credits to be able to modify the OVtune? Or is that something that I would get with the purchase of VF tuner.

If you just recently purchased/will purchase vF tuner, then it should come with 9 credits. 4 for your VIN, 4 for your ECU ID (to make edits to the maps for your truck), and 1 for the license.

I don't know why your truck pings, and who knows if it's actually the tune, the gas, or combination of what tune you are using + gas.

You have provided no details to us that I can find via any zendesk ticket / email, no information about what tune you use, what octane, etc to our zendesk. I actually don't even know who you are. No details about your truck, no clue.

2.0 tune release has multiple options, and customizable as it can get. Depending on ECU version it's 30+ tune options in 2.0... 30+.....

Nobody is required to upgrade to vF tuner, free or otherwise.

Nobody is being "tricked" into paying anything. What are you talking about?.

We have released multiple tunes for people who have been here since the beginning. 1.0 tunes, 1.01,1.02, 1.03, 1.04, 1.04R, 1.05, 1.05.1, beta builds (19700, 19880, 2500, etc) and 2.0 release.

I believe we have supplied more than enough for any of the early adopters who have been using our software and tunes for a while. All of which we supplied free of charge. Depending how early of an adopter you are, you also can upgrade to vF tuner free of charge.

So, your question "when will we release tunes that don't cause your truck to ping and detonate"

it's an unanswerable question. Who knows why your truck pings and detonates. Maybe it's high mileage and needs new plugs. Maybe it's a result of using crappy oil that is known to cause pinging and LSPI issues on higher mileage direct injection engines, maybe you have gunk build up in your intake manifold, maybe you are using lowest quality gas.

Go look back through this thread and please re-read what we promised.

you couldn’t have been here since the beginning with a 2018 truck and 113 messages. OVtune started in 2016.

    It’s your truck likely.

Everyone else has been pretty much happy as can be with the tunes, especially @PapaRee Kruiser tunes

I thought LSPI only applied to DI engines and mainly the Focus ST crowd.

There shouldn’t really be any carbon build up on these engines since they are both port and direct injection, or if your name is Vlady.

or running a premium tune with regular gas and expecting it not to ping or knock :duh:

Sorry I say LSPI but I mean pre-ignition just in general.

it's not just the small displacement turbo DI engines that do this. Very high compression DI engines do this too. Mazda skyactiv, Toyota TNGA dynamic force, etc. Atkinson + high compression + DI is prone to pre ignition, and why some manufacturers actually have coil packs that can measure pre-ignition via plug resistance variances - pre and post combustion event. "ion sensing"

    using crappy oil contributes.

not carbon build up on the valves, gunk / combustion gunk build up inside the intake manifold. It absolutely happens on this engine.

having a dirty air filter... having an aftermarket intake.

I'm just listing possible causes cause I have no details at all......

    HELP! I'm Stumped

I've set the Global Speed Limiter to 275, even 300... truck with 5.29's and 35". Double checked the file, still has speed limited to 83-84MPH. What's my issue? Can anyone with experience help?

That should definitely do it... try this
    open your file
    change the setting
    click "export"
save the file as a new file name
    flash that one.

    what ECU ID?
