You'd have to reproduce the edits on each version, because you can only flash a map to its corresponding ecu ID

Awesome! Now if only I could use it.

Willing to pay the upgrade price to go from my Flash Kit to VF but so far haven’t been able to get a response. I do see on the top of the site that you guys are having some high volume though, so I understand that part.

Tune Support Request for (24861) if someone wants to throw me a bone. I was going to just ask for a new .reg key for my system but going away from that to VF would be my preferred solution now if that means I don’t have to worry about changing systems. Which happens somewhat often.

    Thanks!

Those are complete instructions. No need for anything else unless you have questions.

I hate to do this, but seeing as this is thousands of pages long, I figured I'd ask.

Is there an up-to-date TLDR on OVTune as it stands now? I know there's something about it changing to VF Tuner and somehow that changes how the tunes work? I never fully understood how it all worked in the first place.

I suppose you can buy the cable/dongle kit + tunes? And also just the tunes itself? I was thinking some buddies could buy the tunes and share the cost of the dongle if I get it? Or does it even work that way?

And am I right in assuming there's a bunch of pre-loaded tunes too? Or is there a limit to that?

I know I'm probably the 1,00th person to ask this but there's so much information out there it's hard to process it all as someone who has just been peeking in from the outside for a while.

Is "Stock" one of the tune files included with the software and is it different from factory stock? Thanks

I actually don't believe the stock files are in the tune packs, but they're all available in the vF Tuner file directory for every supported vehicle ecu, so it's really a moot point I suppose

All stock files are in the installation folder and are exactly as provided by Toyota.

Since everybody ignored my last post.

Is the VF Tuner package itself basically useless without the tune pack unless you know how to tune yourself?

The Tune Packs come with a large set of premade tunes as well as future features like the Perf and Tow Tunes, TuneSwitching, and GearLock.

My question is whether the software bundle is effectively useless (to the average person) without the tune pack or if you basically have to get that as well with it.

Also... this really needs an up-to-date TLDR on the first page. There's too much information out there and it's pretty confusing.

What tonered said. Plus you can get/buy user created tunes and flash those. Some of them are unlocked, providing different starting point should you decide to try your hand at modifying.

vF is the software to create and flash tunes

you either need the tune pack or one from the community if you don’t want to create your own.

Does the community have a tune pack of their own or no?

Yes the software alone is useless without a tune pack or experience tuning.
