No, you don't need to buy the vF tuner if you're already one of our customers (either handheld/flash kit). You will still get tunes from us. It's a nice addition being able to tune your own vehicle, but it's not required."

As far as I'm aware, the only changes in the very near future are maps, which only apply to vF, since you can edit them. I'm sure if Mat adds to or changes tunes, those would be available to customers like yourself. You'd have to ask @OVTune how that process works. I don't think he'll go back to sharing the files publicly for anyone to grab and go.

 

I have no idea how that relates to P5F or BIN files.

That said, OVT is going to release a free replacement for Flash Manager for those that don't want to view or edit files.

I believe he is continuing to support folks with HHs.

Am I doing something wrong or do you just have to accept that you have to wait an undetermined number of days to get something you paid for?

Why do you need Credits?

You're VIN is permanently Unlocked.

Shared tunes are not my thing.

But, your VIN is permanently Unlocked for any user.

 

I don't think so. I think u just use VF to flash.

 

You need credits for 3 things.

1 credit will always be there for the software, VFTuner.
4 credits each time you unlock (flash) a new VIN - after that it's unlocked forever
4 credit for each ECU ID you unlock to edit

You do not have to unlock an ECU ID to flash it to your truck. Once your VIN is unlocked you can flash it with as many different tune files for that ID that you like. Once you unock a ECU ID for editing you can edit any unlocked tune file for the ECU ID forever.

 

Thx for the explanation, I knew it was 4 credits to edit. So, it's 4 credits to unlock a VIN for each new truck to flash in VFTuner?
