Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I saw that the buttons in the Flash Tool were separated and organized much better.

But, I was asking about how well the Compare tool works. Before, it would highlight values that were too similar to each other to decimal places that we couldn't see.

 

It still does that sadly. No better or worse than before.

It only does it on 2d maps. 3d maps work fine.

To be fair, I did miss this. There are still dozens of maps that highlight as changed when comparing two files. So "only" seems a bit of a stretch

 

Master keys for Flash/Log version VF Tuners will be emailed out to a bunch of you guys this evening. (to your open ticket. You don't have to make a new ticket).

I went through all of them one day to check. Also if you open any 2d map even without modifying it, it asks you to save it when you close the file. The 3d maps won't do that.

 

What about the 1D maps? They would occasionally be flagged as well.

You need to update instructions. They are confusing as f... , starting from connecting to the vehicle for folks who already have master key, etc.

I almost coded when I started a flash and the flash screen disappeared....Minimized vF and found it.

 

You've had VF Tuner for like...more than a year. If you haven't figured it out by now....

The prompts i got during the flash are not in your instructions...
I did not upgrade just for these reasons. Not to mention the flash status screen disappearing on you.. never had this since 1.05.

 

Im still waiting, Did you get yours? Vlady is back maybe that's what's causing the delay... maybe tomorrow finger crossed.

Negative. I figure perhaps tomorrow, just got back from a long drive and photoshoot out in the country anyway so it's time to hit the sack. Got lots of very active storms that came in though so who knows, I may still be up yet!

Zendesk support case is #24861 (March 2021) if that matters, not sure if they're just straight sequentially numbered (I'd assume so).

Good to hear! Well, for us anyway. Not so great for yourself staring at a screen sending out emails but I'm hoping it's all worth it! Once it's out - and I know you've been working on the instructions and documentation diligently - I'm hoping we'll all be self sufficient and self supporting. As much as possible anyway, the community is usually fantastic about this.

I've never touched vF Tuner myself but expect no problems getting up and running. Got a clean install of Windows 10 on a spare SSD on a recent-ish HP EliteBook and it's dedicated to vF, and my scanner. Everything else I use my Mac for but since Virtual Machines are out for vF Tuner it's no longer fit to be my tuning machine. Nothing a cheap Wintel lappy can't fix.

And - this is probably a little premature - but we can tie our new Master Key to 3 laptops is it? Before running into issues? I ask this because my HP is my retired work laptop (thus why I have vF on a 2nd internal drive separate from my encrypted work one). If I were to separate from the company the PC would go back, though I would retain the drive and put it in something else. If it's hardware tied, I assume that'll eat up one activation. Not too worried about this as I have other PC's I can use or purchase but something to be mindful about. Anything is better than the darn System ID that changes from VM host to VM host. Yuck, glad that is gone.
