Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Unrelated (somewhat) but in your collected data, do you see "intentional" misfires occurring (generally just 1 random cylinder at a time)? Lots of us see this even on otherwise well-running trucks. Curious if you see anything in the ECU that intentionally allows the occasional misfire to occur and whether the stock maps are a potential root cause or whether its mechanical problems with some trucks...?

NOTE: ...and I totally understand if you don't have time to respond given all of the excitement you're feeling from the TW folks right now. Had to ask though

 

He tuned for ECT and non ECT so we still have some option for adjustable throttle mapping based on user preference as I gather.

 

carbon fiber driveshaft? lol. i think you've been playing waaay too much Gran Turismo.

 

How does the Atkinson cycle disengage? Is it based on RPM? Engine load? Throttle input?

There is $699 driveshaft that a Tacoma World member pointed me too. I am pretty sure that carbon fiber driveshaft works in the real world.

I haven't played Gran Turismo since the year 2000.

 

I here with these guys. Would like to see the torque dive from 21-2300rpm go away though. That is the sweet spot with the manual trans in 6th between 65-70 mph.

I think all of those play a factor on it.

 

So what's happening now? Did @InsertNameHere drive his truck home today with the tune? Or did it revert to stock before he left the test facility? I'm more curious as to what it feels like to actually drive as opposed to what the graph shows.

Yeah, but as he said "most changes are geared towards ECT mode"..
Back to my original question; can ECT be engaged automatically every time the truck starts via the tune?
