I get 16 MPG with 1.02C (A). I was getting about the same prior. This is mixed about 50/50 and I drive it like a rental. 34X10.5X17 tires, 3 piece steel skids, steel sliders, steel front bumper and winch, 2" lift, RTT and recovery gear.

My 2017 tacoma, 2” lift +275/70/17 ko2s i was getting 14mpg highway no tune, and im still driving the same with no tune and now im getting 17mpg highway. This truck is somthing else i swear it has a mind of its own. That would explained why literally everyone has different mpg some with exact same setup and driving habits.

32 mpg that's crazy. Are you talking about averaging 32 mpg for the whole tank of gas?

Constant heat as well. 2wd, tires and hot temperature make the biggest difference. Us 4x4 guys from up in the cold north can get your MPG for maybe 1 or 2 weeks a year.

What are your RPMs around 80mph? I have the same problem with my Wrangler, after throwing 37s on it I regeared to 5.13s and my hell...I should have gone with 4.88s at the highest. I’m running the same size tires as you on my Taco right now.

    More kits ship today.
04B00 is an extremely OLD (2015) version calibration, pre 01 which requires TSB update.

nice to have to see the progression in how toyota modifies their OE tune for shifting.

Knowing what I know now I almost feel sorry for the software engineers whose job it was to code for the shifting. They were given an impossible task. The hardware (gearing) is completely screwed up and the best coding in the world can't completely overcome bad hardware. If I had read the below post before I bought my truck, I never would have bought an AT Tacoma.

    Tacoma Transmission Final Drive Ratios

If you install 4.88 gears in a completely stock Tacoma AT you will STILL have a taller final drive ratio than
a MT. In fact you could go to 5.29s (if they were available) and that would essentially match the final drive ratio
of the MT (3.0682 vs 3.053 for stock MT)

Having said that I'm thankful you have been able to at least make it somewhat livable for me and so many others...:)

If you need other opinions I have fairly extensive knowledge of tuning (all of my motorcycles and previous cars have been tuned as per my feedback).

Is the torque learning removed in 1.03?

Just wondering if anybody with an '18 has installed the tune. I'm definitely interested, but would like to confirm that either a) the issues still exist with the '18, or b) it works that much better on the '18. Either way, I'm trying to avoid purchasing a solution for an already solved problem. It's hard to know if my vehicle drives like all the others with issues. I only know how 'it' drives. Which isn't great. It really wants to settle in at about 1500rpm, no matter how fast I'm going. And at 1500rpm, I might as well be Flintstone'ing it for all the acceleration I'm going to get.

AT guys and gals are gonna love this improved, more refined driving experience! :D

I don't yet have a ton of miles logged (and it is still in testing), but some nuggets I'll share from the 50 miles I've driven to give you a sense of what's on the horizon:

Improved throttle - even MORE linear, instant, mechanical throttle feel
Power delivery - no longer comes in at 3,500, feels better distributed throughout without the jolt of power on the top-end
MPGs - initially appears to be 10% improvement over prior release. to be confirmed over the long haul
Gears - 5th/6th are usable and can even pull up a mild hill in 5th w/o losing speed or downshifting

Can't comment on torque learning or any of that stuff folks I'm sure will ask about as I don't have enough miles on it yet, but so far very good and with his R&D truck at his disposal it's much easier for him to dial down the learning so I'm optimistic for the long haul!
