I was wondering the same thing, you’ll have more torque with the converter unlocked. But was curious of how much heat it would put into the converter while towing.

Yep exactly. I’m hoping @OVTune responds that the load from the added weight of towing will lock it up when needed to not burn up the TC

Yup I’ve done that for a long time. They just turn off personalization and updates after 90 days, which isn’t that big of a deal. You can do this with windows 7 too, it just pops up a box that says you may be a victim of counterfeiting when you first boot

    Hah...I knew it.
    So you've eliminated flex-lock?
Have you played with the partial duty cycles of any of the other solenoids?

I'm on board once 1.03 and new hardware are available.

Around town, the truck will be a blast to drive without that converter holding the motor down. I’m looking forward to 103!

I hadn’t seen that before. I was just trying to think of a way to rock a decal but be able to take it off when going to the dealership. Lol

Mat, very impressed by your progress shared today. I was driving around this weekend (mainly in S4-6) and was honestly thinking to myself that it would be hard to get my truck to drive much better... and yet, here we are and all of the things you've called out are massive improvements. At some point when the dust settles a bit, would love to get your thoughts on WHY Toyota did some of the things they did in terms of the torque converter, messy VVT, etc., Some of it does indeed seem lazy, other things I could potentially see being a reliability call (though that one still is a stretch to me), but things such as the shifting, torque converter, and nasty exhaust evade me. Especially when I can't tell much difference in fuel economy or AFR (aside from the slightly less rich mix on higher loads you have implemented).

If you can deliver what you're sharing here, AND get it carb approved I can only imagine this is the beginning of a long and meaningful relationship with the Taco biz!

Congrats on the progress - massive progress and thanks for letting me be a small part of your process early on!

I would love that as the faster the auto tunes come, the faster the manual tunes come out. With that, I guess a few days so he can finalize everything.

He has said in a prior post he’s targeting end of week. Tomorrow is Dyno day which tends to be a really busy, full day and he’ll likely learn a bit more to put final touches on the files before he releases them into the wild. I wouldn’t get your hopes up for tomorrow but he’s clearly very close to perfection!

I am not able to run the flash manager. What should I do? Is it a software problem or do I need a different laptop?

Can’t wait for the new update!

I'd asked on your website, but just in case I get an answer here sooner (only asked it yesterday) @OVTune anyway for me to pay with two cards? I received a $500 gift card for Christmas and can't think of a better place to spend it!

What version of windows are you running? I wonder if that could be an issue.

Check the size of the file, it may have been cut off during download or AV may be stopping it, probably find it's extremely small. Re-download it.
