ECT mode now is setup to maximize instant delivery of power and downshifting to keep the rpms up

 

Awesome work. Looking forward to getting my kit. Where you able to get UPS to pick up orders today or did you have to drop them off?

 

Even without towing, would be nice to see how trans temps are affected if at all by the work you’ve done to make it hold overdrive better in highway conditions. Really solid work today - appreciate all the updates!

M/T guys - we are at 2100-2300 at those speeds on stock gears/tire in 6th.
...and parasitic losses should be less with our gearboxes.

Look at the dyno results and think about that for a sec...

Comparing this result to 1.01b...

The fattest torque gain over stock has moved down in the RPM range significantly - IIRC ~ 3200 on 1.01b, now about 2300-2400.

Edit: I know that results this low in the RPM range on a dyno are kinda meh but geez!

 

I'm currently on 1.02 in my MT and have been for around a month and a half, and my driving habits haven't really changed from what was required to properly use power/have power on tap with the tune from factory, i.e. cruise at 2800-3k, never shifting below 3k, etc lol I've been slowly getting better at adjusting and cruising and shifting a tad lower in the rpm band, around 2500, but with the kind of improvements to be seen with 1.03, I expect I've even more relearning to do haha

 

Wait.. you never tried the original 1.03 M/T?

 

No, to my knowledge I'm on 1.02, got it the first week of January...unless I misunderstood the labeling system for the tunes. From what I had been reading, I was under the impression that 1.03 was for AT and 1.03B for MT.

Man, a lot has happened since I went to bed, great job again Mat @OVTune. This thread lit up like a White House press conference, some good questions, some that didn't read the press release, (earlier thread posts that is, Google's not the only place with a search bar), and just some off the wall stuff. Love what your tune has done for my truck and from the numbers you got this time, looks like I'll be driving out of my way to get 91 to get all the fun I can out of my truck looking forward to the bolt-ons you're working on too. Between you & @mesojdm my wallet will be light for a while, but no complaints.

Will the S gears still function as before,Only better? Currently I start in S2 or 3 and then manually upshift/downshift accordingly. Somehow I’ve been getting better MPGs this way and the truck responds well most of the time. I know I should’ve gotten a MT but I don’t need 4wd where I live in FL. Unlike most Taco owners I’m a street sport truck kinda guy. I’m looking forward to installing 1.03. Thanks

 

Thought I got in on the last of the 11 dongles but confirmed now as pre-order. oh well cant wait either. Pretty new to much of this techinal talk but learning with every post. thanks guys and @OVTune, glad there is someone out there to save this awesome truck
