Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Will have updates on AT tune status tonight.
Been working since Wednesday making some tweaks to how the trans mission responds when cold. I changed things so the engine isn't gutless when cold and need the transmission to match

 

So likely no files today?

I can wait for perfection!

 

Sucks that we have to wait but the cold situation with the engine and tranny is a real pain in the ass. I had reported even with the test tune I had that when it got down into the 40’s the tranny started to do its clunking. Things were still better than it was with 1.02 but it seems as it gets colder it affects the tranny more.

 

I was in single digits temp-wise and haven't had any issues like that. My tune is newer and my drive shorter,maybe that's why. I am still getting 23mpg when I don't have a heavy foot, 17-18 when I'm having fun. All stock, no armor other than an Avid front bumper guard.

 

You know when someone says you're getting something and your anticipation goes nuts, but there's no actual ETA on it and it makes you want it more? Bingo!

The 1.03 test tune im running has damn near minimized the issues I’ve reported. Still some room for improvement but it’s close to perfection. Only other issue I’ve had is when I decelerate and then accelerate shortly after the transmission seems alittle confused whether to shift down or up. That’s only happens twice though. Seems like the gear shifts into another dimension is the best way I can describe it.

 

Funny I noticed same thing. Truck been driving way better this week, been on 1.02C for couple of months. Initially I thought it was temperature dependent, but it's been 20F to 70F here in Kansas.

The truck knows, CUPID is coming!

 

Mat has anounced that he is cancelling 1.03 for another month for touch ups. Sorry guys!

Aka tomorrow afternoon. OVT time. Kinda like valve time.
