Good enough to get a beer run done. Did about a 20mile round trip in shitty weather with a truck that's definitely no longer aerodynamic (as it's covered in frozen snow) .

    WOW. WHAT A DIFFERENCE.

So much better than stock. Much better than 1.02. I found that it hung onto 4th too long though. Like I accelerated to about 50mph, and it wouldn't shift to 5th so I had to manually shift it. It happened once more on the trip after that. Might settle out in the next day or two we'll see.

Everything else about it was great, the engine has enough torque at 1500-2000rpm now. And holy hell can it accelerate. I can't wait to go on a road trip and a highway to test out 6th gear and cruise control.

Just gotta wait till the snow clears.....

S-4 ECT at speeds of 70 to 80 is real, real fun!!

VSC does not like when the tires break loose going through a sweeping on ramp at 50.

    Auto lsd burnout are easy.

The truck feels connected to my right foot, thanks Matt. I put 40 on it tonight and it feels better than 1.02c.

    WOW.
Just took it for a spin. hit the throttle at 40mph and it keeps pulling until redline. WITH 35's on! I don't think my truck has ever been this awake. Throttle response is crazy(I drive with ECT on 24-7)
Although while backing into my garage the reverse was surging in RPM between ~700-1k. I figured it still needed to "learn" this as Mat said there are maps for each gear.

Hahaha no. I'm not that dumb. Just went for test drive. Ran only the 87 because that's what is in the tank now. Did standard drive then ect, then just s mode. Wow. What a difference.. worth the money. Thanks matt. Can't wait for the twin turbo. I'll be there. Thanks dylon for the videos, help and commentary. Lol

Loaded 1.03 87 octane and TCU files, went out for 23 mile drive. Initial impression: AWESOME!

    ECU: 04B03
2017 TRD Pro automatic, stock everything.

The drive included city streets, and highway. The 1st gear "harshness" from 1.02C shift A is gone. 1-2 shift is much improved. When making slow right turns, I no longer struggle with the jumpy 1st gear like I did with 1.02C. Truck feels much more responsive, even compared to 1.02C. If I decide to give it little more "gas", push pedal down little further, truck responds like it should, RPM goes up, truck moves little quicker. If I push pedal down even further, truck downshifts and further accelerate up to speed. That "dead pedal" feeling is gone with 1.03.

I can finally accelerate up to highway speed without fighting the transmission. Prior to 1.03, transmission race to 6th as I accelerate, press pedal down further, truck downshifts to 4th or 3rd, RPM jumps, back off pedal, truck race back to 6th, cycle continues until I reach 70mph. With 1.03, I can modulate the gas pedal and keep the transmission in the proper gear as I accelerate to speed, 3rd and 4th gear are now well behaved. Coupled that with Mat's improved engine parameters, accelerating to speed is now uneventful, for the better! Not once during my 23 mile drive did the transmission shift from 6 to 4. Truck will downshift from 6th to 5th if necessary to maintain speed.

I did try cruise control for a short while on the highway. Its working as you expect, in 6th gear going 65 to 70, downshift to 5th on a hill, maintained speed and shift back to 6th.

I did not notice any surging which were reported by some manual transmission owners. Over the 23 miles, I averaged 18.2mpg with moderate driving. Transmission temp was 190F, coolant temp 201F, outside temp 35F with light rain.

The truck have never felt so responsive, its almost like Mat put a throttle cable in the truck, I feel connected. I push gas, truck goes, simple as that. If the learning is muted / eliminated, this is a home run.

I still had 91 in the tank from running 1.02C, so naturally I loaded 91map. So far so good. Let's just hope it stays this way

Dowloaded Flash Manager. Turned off Windows Defender. In the setup menu when I try to download "Flash Tools", it opens up a window on chrome and says, "Whoops! There was a problem with the preview. Retrying"

If I hit the download button on the screen, it goes to another screen that says "Sorry, this file is infected with a virus. Onlye the owner is allowed to download infected files."

Tried this with IE as well and same result. I can download the old pcmflash-1.1.83 with the link in the instructions. Im assuming this will work fine?

Aww man, I need a license key before I can flash. Bummer. Was looking forward to a midnight drive. After borrowing an imac, installing windows 8 on it and then getting through the rest of the Flash Manager stuff, I thought I was home free. :frusty:

It's ok man, Matt dropped 1.03 as I walked out the door for work then after I'm done with this job at midnight I get to my other job at 2am so I just get to read all about everyone's happiness while I sweat my ass off. Lol now I gotta figure out if I sleep when I get home or download and flash.

well just got back from about 75 mile drive on 1.03 here is what i think:

Pros: 1. Throttle is very sensitive and gives you the feeling of ALOT more torque down low (due to torque converter enhancements). 2. Shifts are more consistent, got rid of that learning feeling as i had a mix of highway and stop and go driving. 3. The shift issue between 1st and 2nd which some complained about being harsh is gone and it's drops into a second gear alot quicker (which i personally like). 4. Downshifts the way it's supposed to so now coming out of a corner it doesn't need to drop a gear to get out of the bogging mode.

Cons: there's not many but i have a couple. 1. Because the pedal now gives you the feeling of more torque (great feeling) the truck can feel jerky when taking your foot off the pedal and back on even in the slightest of pressure. 2. MPG on highway at 65mph was 18.6 (not a big deal but was hoping for above 20).

Overall summary: Very happy and it is definitely an improvement over 102.c in my opinion. I also just flashed it before going on my drive and as we know from the past, it takes some more miles on the truck to let it settle in to the new changes so maybe my cons will go away with more miles on it. Just wanted to share what i found with everyone. It's clear matt put in some serious time on this tune.
