Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Wow, very nice!! Only did about 10 miles tonight on the 91 tune. Loving it so far. Flashing was simple. I didn't need to reinstall any of the drivers or PCM. Can't wait to drive it around tomorrow.

 

all went well with the new files.

1 question - the last pic in the OP shows Flash Manager having a 93 tune
as well, should we be seeing that in FM, I don't?

This the same issue on the manual version of the tune. The throttle is a bit too sensitive.

 

1.03 and 4lo are soo sweet! Totally changed the way 4lo drove!

 

My 2017 has the 04B02 as well. MFG in Sept 2016.

Page 585 I think it cause my computer is old

 

Downloaded new flash manager, flashed ECM and TCU. Drives fn awesome. So far 80 miles out of a 120 mile trip.

Some of you need to take a computer basics class.

 

I’m about to flash, so will report later this weekend on my experiences with this version, but speaking of the early 1.03 test I’ve been running that didn’t yet include a lot of the torque converter and shifting enhancements, I actually remember complaining to Mat about how it was a little touchy on the throttle. Was really apparent since my first test drive was a traffic filled commute. It settled down within a couple of days as the ignition and throttle learning did its work and has been smooth as Irish butter for the last 3-4 weeks I’ve been running it and I have about 2500 on that version now

First test drive: Damp roads, caught 2nd, truck went a little sideways. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

 

Flash successful - heading out later today for a long drive!

 

Initial thoughts I wanted to share:

Drove 150 miles this morning through New England and white mountains, before the tune no way would keep in 5th, never mind 6th. Smooth ride and once settled into the new throttle sensitivity was amazing, it gave me hope In Keeping the truck and now is even better than my 2nd gen.

Overall rating, phenomenal and will be trying 91 tune on the way home once I get to a gas station.

Mine was manufactured September 26/16 and I have 04B03

 

Today is 4wheeling day. I'm going to try s mode, 4 Hi and 4lo. And it's muddy out since it's been raining for days.

 

My ‘17 was mfg 8/16 and came with B02 but the shift feeling enhancements TSB updated it to 03...
