I'll check status on where our hardware is for the pre-orders.

For anyone who is getting a failed flash attempt -
make sure you have good, stable battery voltage. turn off your head lights, radio, etc.
If your battery voltage is low OR it is VERY cold, turn your truck on first, let it warm up some, then flash.
The lower the battery voltage is (and at 12.0 volts it's at the low side) the slower the programming will be, and more likely to time out.

If you get a failed flash, do not worry. Your ECU is safe. You can try again, you can shut off your truck, cycle power and then try again, etc.

AT guys, it took me 12 attempts to get the flash to take. it's no problem.

i tried to flash after running the truck so it was warm, and a fan behind the dash was on with the truck off, and i couldn't turn off the fan. it wouldn't flash while that fan was going. after 11 attempts the fan suddenly stopped, flashed again, and bingo on attempt 12, first attempt with everything off.

I flashed them both the same way. Never changed the drop down to gear box. Someone asked a question about this last night and Matt just said do to everything exactly the same but with the different file. Maybe I took him too literally..but now I'm confused? My truck drives great.

@OVTune Did I do it wrong? How am I still feeling all of the changes to the transmission?

Thats weird. I'm 100% sure I did not change the drop down to the gearbox. I even checked it to make sure it was NOT on the gearbox option ha. Im going to reflash just in case, but the truck definitely runs good. Ive put 75-80 miles on it since last night.

I previously said 1.03 was perfect except touchy/jerky throttle response but after about 150 mile now it has smoothed out. Now the tune is perfect for my mostly city driving. I am running the 87 1.03 and it feels plenty snappy enough so to spend an extra 11 bucks a tank is not really worth it to me but i can imagine what the 91 version feels like

well if you only flashed the ECU, the truck will still drive fine. Just flash the TCU file for the other changes

Flashed late last night to 1.03/87. No problems flashing. PCM flash and drivers from 1.02 flash worked fine. Took boys to hockey practice this morning so was able to get about 20 miles or so in.

Echoing others, definitely improved over 1.02. It just goes. S-mode on some hills, and pulls nicely.

When people would ask me “how do like your truck?” I would answer “like it a lot....it won’t win any races, but I like it.” Would’ve answered the same with 1.02. Now with 1.03, it feels quick. I won’t have to say “we’ll its kinda slow, but a nice truck.” Love the initial impressions on 1.03.

I flashed both. I even deleted the ECU file before downloading the TCU file, so I wouldnt get them mixed up on my desktop. I trust you though, since this is your baby. I'm just not sure how the truck runs and runs great. I got a success message after each flash, so I assume they both took.

What would I notice from the TCU file? firmer/faster shifts? converter lockup? My truck is doing all of that.

Is there a difference if you flash tcu first and then ecu? Or does it have to be ecu first?

Probably not - just seemed logical to me to write the ECU first and TCU second
