Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I just turn them off for to save energy consumption.

 

Ovtune said to have everything off for ghe initial idle learning. Let it idle for 10mins nothing on and dont even touch the brake

 

Well loaded the files and tried to start the truck and it just kept cranking over for like 20 seconds..... scared the shit out of me, but I turned it off and then back on and I'm good now

 

Did you turn the truck off after the flash completed?

After the flash finishes you have to cycle power.

 

Yeah, could it be I went from a 91 tune to an 87? Truck is running fine now. Letting it idle for the 10 minutes

 

any one near el monte, CA that can loan a hand having trouble with my flash program

 

Drove south into wind from the south at 11mph wind speed. Cruise at highway speeds.

I’m a little mixed about this.

1st and second are really sensitive.

Still got a lot more driving to do.

I've been on 1.02C-C 91 for at least 4 months. About a month ago, I moved from stock wheel/tire to 59 lb 33" Cooper Max skinnies and felt some sluggishness come back especially from a dead stop and the truck was back to downshifting to 4th on the hwy with just the slightest nudge of go pedal. I was about to order gears but decided to wait until Matt released the update. Flashed to 1.03 91 this AM and put 25 miles on it. Wow! Much improved drivability with the bigger, heavier tires. Feels much more connected. It is crazy windy today and the truck typically hates the hwy at 70+ in a headwind or cross wind. It felt much less bothered by the wind today. Thank you Matt for all your work on this. Cannot believe how much a difference your tune makes.

 

the flash program keeps shutting off half way thru the flash at around 40%. im still using the first flash 1.83 still not sure if that matters

 

make sure all virus and firewall stuff is off.

 

all of it is off. first time i flashed no problems but that was with 1.2 c

 

Hurry the fuck up...

 

double check all connections. Make sure all extra electrical stuff is off. Watch your voltage when flashing. Does it stay above 12 volts. Wonder if battery is weak and it's dropping below 12 volts?
