Can we get a vid of you mashing the pedal? Wanna see if there's that annoying power drop around 1k rpms.

I ran up the motor up in S mode, bumped the limiter and shifted, it seemed like the motor dropped 2k rpm before making a long and slow shift. It only did it one, but I could try to document it the next time it happens. That’s the only issue I’ve noticed.

I have the SSP and am running the 1.03 tune. They can be run concurrently, but I feel no need to. My SSP is unplugged from the OBD and is under the seat at the moment. With 1.03 I have zero need for it, and the fueling is SO much better than running a SSP alone.

When directing a question to Matt, you should really take the effort to quote him, message him directly, or email him. Based on how quickly this forum moves, I personally wouldn' expect Matt to catch every single question that's randomly posted within this thread.

Clunk usually happens when truck is cold, on deceleration, downshift to first.

Almost always at the same spot, distance from start point. Literally at the same stoplight.

You can let it learn again if you want. Hook up PCM flash and choose “clear DTC”

My dongle arrives Monday. I like mode 3 on the SSP when pulling my trailer. Glad to hear that D is better with 1.03.

Great info. Super stoked to get it loaded.

I tag him so that he might go back at a later date and be able to easily generate a FAQ sheet if desired. I don’t expect him to answer immediately.

You don't HAVE to let the idle learn but you may notice throttle oscillation at idle or low throttle input until the ecu has fully learned idle

Can't seem to dump ECU or TCU; get the usual 'dongle not accessible' messages.

I haven't been all the pages of the thread; what are we supposed to be looking for here? I don't have a tune.

I am not regeared. I have played with it since, and it looks like I get to 6th around 65 depending on how much throttle I am giving it. So all seems well. That first night I must have been right at the edge of its shift point. So I dont think I was leaving 5th gear, and thats why it was always going straight to 4th every time.

I have seen the 6th to 5th downshift many times since, when at 70mph+.

So far the tune feels great.

I don’t believe it’s possible for this truck to behave properly at highway speeds

Sure it is, just throw the 1GD-FTV motor in it that Toyota pairs with this same transmission in the Hilux everywhere else in the world...

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_GD_engine#1GD-FTV

    "177 PS (175 hp; 130 kW) at 3400 rpm, and 450 N⋅m (332 lbf⋅ft) of torque at 1400-2600 rpm when mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission"

    /sarcasm
