I don’t think anyone is complaining about rev hang any more? I sure don’t notice it since the first 1.03 release I’ve run and sure not in 1.03c

You can still purchase the tunning kit from OVT website, so at least Mat didn't get hit with a stop sale from Toyota.

Reconciling the comments Mat made about good news for OVTune and 1.03 users + Toyota contacting him, I doubt this is anything but good news. Suspense is fun though!

 

Probably a joint venture on a twin turbo setup!

 

If this tune is smoother, more powerful, and has better MPG, why wouldn't Toyota have done this to begin with? I suspect because they built the truck and have millions of dollars in research and development, it wouldn't have been hard for them.

 

Let’s see the facts here. It’s not so hard to figure out what Toyota wants from him.

1. Mat has a unique talent tuning Tacomas. He fixed the issue Toyota’s team of engineers couldn’t.

2. The product became so popular it was inevitable for Toyota Corp not find out. The OVTune threads have remained on the first page for days.

3. Toyota is widely known for slow upgrades but huge reliability. This tune is something Toyota desperately needs to keep their reputation high without spending too much money doing physical repairs on affected models.

4. Their solution is to either buy off Mat’s tunes and/or hire him to fix the issue once and for all.

 

I think ovtune enjoys stirring the pot.

 

I love Toyota, and I love what @OVTune has done.... but... there ain’t a snowballs chance in hell they do number 4. If nothing else it’s out of principle. Corporate vs entrepreneur.

 

I dought it. Matt's sales numbers when compared to the number of Tacomas sold wouldn't even blip Toyota's radar screen.
