Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

You can’t get busted or sued for tuning a vehicle. If this was the case there would be damn near no performance cars and trucks anymore.

Also I remember Mat working on fleets of Tacoma’s. Perhaps his work both on the fleet trucks and this forum has caught Toyota’s attention.

Hopefully they offer him an opportunity to work along side their fucked up engineers who got us into this mess to begin with. Then maybe we can get an official OEM fix to Toyota’s mess.

While it is true that there are probably very few 3rd gens tuned as compared to total number sold, you can't deny the impact of social media. Someone complains about a certain driveability issue on a FB group - "Wish this truck wasn't such a slug when I press the gas" or "damn thing shifts too much" - OVtune is gonna come up.

Edit: I highly doubt that OVtune is being choke slammed by lawyers. I also have my doubts that the conspiracy theories will stop any time soon. Undoubtedly, we will get an answer, but I doubt it will be today....

 

Not sure that "couldn't" is the right word. Lol perhaps "wouldn't"

 

On a more positive note, perhaps everyone is overreacting and he's just messing with everyone because he hasn't had coffee yet lol or is going to be able to get his hands on those twin turbos from that one SUV, forget which one. ls500 or something? The one where he said like 50 pages back that just from eyeballing it, without being able to actually get hands on, it looked like the hardware could be transplanted

Mods that people say don’t work I was averaging 20-22 before the tune. Nice work @OVTune

 

Could you imagine a tune he’s write using Toyota to back him up? No more “digging” through the ECU. He’d have access to every bit of it.

Y’all are crazy if you think Toyota doesn’t have someone or more than 1 person watching tacomaworld and see that people are getting more power, more MPGs, and overall happier with their truck.

This can only be good news.

 

What mods did you implement for mpg that people said wouldn't work? Seems like they did worked for you, so I'm curious, I'm always down for increasing mpg. Thanks.
