"After 400 miles though I started to feel like the shifting was getting jerky and the throttle was becoming more sluggish." Are you saying that you don't think the transmission learning hasn't been disable on 1.03? WTF?

Meh, not necessarily. That thread is purely for reviews, which you may or may not be interested in keeping up on. There's no discussions in the thread like in these other ones

I am saying for me I felt a change in the way it was shifting and throttle response after 400 miles. After running with ECT in D mode for about 600 miles I haven't had any complaints.

It is something to keep an eye on as seeing other experiences with the product at different mileage points is important.

Fair. I've been less attentive because I hadn't been experiencing the stuttering and stuff that other MT users referenced

Mat is a busy guy, I am sure he is doing his best to keep up with demand. I bought my tune Sep 2nd, received hardware Sep 27th, and tune files Oct 1st.

Now tell us what is this Toyota "development(s)" Mat! :goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy:

Magnuson TVS1900 Supercharger with 87mm pulley, Catted OVTune dumptubes, Doug Thorley 2.5in y-pipe, custom mufflers, 76mm Tundra throttle body, 5.29 Yukon gears, JamesT custom fuel rails, Yotawerx 87mm tune, Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 suspension. And some other stuff.
I am seriously considering purchasing the tune. Though I have a question: If you have the v1.03 tune for 91 octane and fill up on something lower than 91, like 87 octane for example, what are the consequences? Do you lose the power gains? Does the truck run like crap?

Ill be amazed if pre-orders ship today. Besides the vague posts about "new developments" which periodically bring this thread back to life for a couple pages, there isnt much going on. Orange virus charges over $16 for shipping, thats double what priority shipping costs for any US location. Not worried about the cost difference but on top of paying a lot for shipping, we just have to hope that "tomorrow" is the day. I really hope this tune is as impressive as im hoping after all of the built up anticipation. /whining

You can run an 87 map on 91 octane, but I highly recommend you do not try the opposite.

A map tuned for higher octane will have tuning tables that reflect that and running lower octane with it is a no-no

detonation or "knocking" can occur if you use too low of an octane for the specific tune. This is usually much more of an issue in forced induction setups but can still occur on NA engines.

Thanks! Thinking was to help direct folks who often drop in asking how the tune works - or if it works, is it worth it, etc., to get a more holistic view of experiences from customers. Sifting through 13,000 posts isn't reasonable for most people so I had a sticky created for that purpose - keeping this thread for the general questions/BS

I had a feeling that would be the answer. That might be a show stopper for me. The $700 for the tune is a negligible cost but the 17%-20% increase in fuel cost is considerable.

I have read most of the post on the various OV tune threads but has anyone posted measured 0-60 times or 1/4 mile times with stock vs tuned?
