If I remember correctly, Mat even said he might ship all pre-orders with registered dongles, one step less that all the guys (including myself) have to do.

Listen, most of you have had you truck for close to or over a year, so you’ve all put up with how crappy it drives.

Chill the f*ck out guys! Damn, reading the last two pages of this thread is ridiculous! No wonder Mat said he needs to step away from this thread.

I do believe he needs help, but he’s working miracles here, cut the guy some slack. No need to name calling or rushing the guy.

Patiently awaiting my order from 2/14

I’m just trying to figure out if the ‘18s are going to have their tune posted anytime soon. I have an ECU that’s not in the current list. Dongle in hand (eew, that’s bad) but no tune available.

Been there done that. Operated my business for 15 years with a mentality that no one can do it better than me and disclose as little as possible. The downside is that you will burn yourself out. I now work for Toyota.

Just got back from a 200 mile round trip - fast moving traffic and lots of hills / mountain grades... drive with ECT on most of the time running 80-85 mph. So fun! Easy to bob and weave through thick traffic and... when I drive like that I normally don’t get better than 15-16mpg. Driving 80+ with ECT ON and my foot heavy on the skinny pedal I averaged 18.4mpg by my calcs. Wow

$1,000 bucks if you find the people responsible for the gearing and the stock tune and punch them in the dick.

The simplest solution would be to STOP TAKING PRE-ORDERS. The same people complaining about delays are the same people that were begging for you to take pre-orders. Let them just watch the thread to wait for availability of the tune package. Then.. if they happen to blink and miss the 5 second window when orders are opened up... tuff stuff..... they'll just have to wait until the next time.
It won't bother me none... I ordered during the Labor Day sale, and mine was delivered in early October. :bananadance:

Hes already stated he has not received the dongles yet and is still awaiting them to arrive. Hes got the boxes all ready for when they arrive.

That would probably work, but don't expect it to do much else. Windows 10 takes up nearly all of that 32GB drive and doesn't leave room for much else after updates. As a dedicated tuning computer it should be fine. Looks like it has 1x USB 3.0 and 1x USB 2.0. You need 2 USB minimum (one for your dongle and one for the OBDII interface). You won't be able to use a wireless mouse unless you get a bluetooth one. I wouldn't recommend using a USB hub.

I'm Partial to Lenovo's business class machines and dislike Dell and HP. They aren't pretty, but they are reliable. The wife has a T430 and I've got a T530. Both bought used and run windows 10 just fine.

Thanks ! Yes it is only for the tune and any future updates. Will look at your suggested Lenovo.

Make certain its running 64 bit Windows. 32 bit produces errors.
Matt said he would work on a 32 bit build for flash manager but I don't believe it is available yet.

I’m a creature of habit. My daily driving has not changed. What has changed, 1. My truck is so much more enjoyable to drive and my average fuel economy is rapidly approaching my previous best. This rapid change is crazy. Could one change their year’s batting average in two games! This is two tanks of gas.
Toyota is definitely calling Mat for a reason.

Non competes aren’t worth the paper they are written on. Most people don’t seem to understand this.

He could just put 12 week lead time on the order page, then be a hero when it comes earlier. People have no issue waiting that long for sliders.

People shouldn’t have waited so long to get on the boat then they wouldn’t have this problem :)

I'm starting to experience the same thing in D and ECT D (haven't really used S mode), but it's intermittent. I have about 500 miles on the 91 tune (04B02). This started happening in the last 50 miles or so. I'm rolling on 275/70/17 tires with about a 2in lift, TRD CAI, spec-U exhaust and about 300 lbs or so of additional weight from armor and winch. I think I'm going to try the 87 tune to see if it does the same thing.

First of all, what in the Sam hell is a dongle, and why should we all be clamoring to spend $800 to make are freaking trucks drive somewhat closer to the way they should drive to begin with by purchasing an aftermarket product from someone who is obviously smarter than the highly paid hacks that are currently working for Toyota Motor Corp. For Christ sake, I have been buying new Toyota vehicles every two years since 1988. Mostly Tacoma's, except for a couple 4 runners and Rav4. This is the first time I have ever had a Toyota that I can truly say WTF were these engineers smoking when they decided that this tranny/engine combo should be paired and was a Good marriage and ready for release? Come on Toyota, this is beyond ridiculous and you know it. And your tranny tsb and rev1, did little if anything. So get your fat cat asses off of your high horse, swallow a little pride, get with Matt, PAY UP, and lets finally get everyone's truck up to par for what use to be high standards for a Toyota vehicle. Especially the Tacoma. It's embarrassing when I have been the Tacoma guy in the family for 30 years now, and I talked my nephew out of buying a new Tacoma and into buying a used second gen, as I own both and my 2011 is a much more enjoyable drive, unless he would want add another $3000 in gears and a tune. So buck the hell up and make this right! I think instead of all of us spending money hand over fist, we should organize a march on Toyota headquarters in rebut of this sorry concoction they have put together. :annoyed:
