Too many others to quote, I'll just say I agree with them. Mat's tune has woke this truck up & so fun to drive. I knew when I had to give up my V8 5 speed Dakota for the Tacoma's V6 auto there was going to be a difference. But I was disappointed beyond what I expected. Following his development of this tune gave me hope that somebody could get this truck to run right, we all know Toyota was no help, crap, I had to fight for tranny TSB updates. Mat put a lot of work into this & he always responded as quick as possible to any emails or PM's I sent. I'm letting the tune settle in & like @dYL0n, I'll post my review on @bshammer0 's thread when it does. Love this mod, swear the truck even sounds better. Lol

Is this the torque Fusion thing? What is the "bought the $10 Toyota PIDs" thing I see people reference.

This is OBD Fusion for the iPhone (Torque is the Android equivalent as I understand it).

You go to settings->purchase extras and then can find the custom Toyota PIDs for your vehicle.

Thanks to all for getting in there and voting / reviewing the tune. While I know Mat will continue to dial in for smaller tires, more aggressive mods / tires, etc., there is no question this is a hit with 76% of reviewers giving it a 5 star and another 16% a 4 star. That's 97% of customers who would buy it again in a heartbeat if they had it to do over again... And this is a tiny fraction of a fraction of Tacomas on the road. The journey is just beginning - hats off @OVTune !!!

I'll be updating my review as the days go on. I only have about 90 miles on 1.03 right now but HOLY CRAP it is excellent. I can actually drive in 6th gear! 5th gear is also usable now as well instead of kicking down straight to 4th.

Wonder if Mat's upcoming announcement on something better then all three of the power adders(exhaust, turbos, air intake)that he's teasing will be something we can use here in cali...?
Exhaust isn't legal and turbos will be out of reach for most so hoping for an affordable option we here in commiefornia can use..!!

Had the opposite fuel problem many have - had the laptop in the truck, down to 3 gallons 93 in the tank. Ready to try out 87 tune...and filled my truck up with 93 mindlessly. I guess I'll just have to live with more power for a little while longer... lol. And maybe @mesojdm can be the tester for 87 from premium before me :)

You can run 93 on an 87 tune... Just not 87 on a 91 tune

right - but no reason I'd flash a full tank of expensive fuel to a tune that doesn't maximize the power gains ;)

I have a question about S-Mode with 1.03 AT. I recall Matt stating that while in S-Mode the torque converter would be locked while in S-Mode. I recent got the Fusion OBD app with the Toyota PID exertions and set up a TC Status gauge. I am not seeing the TC go fully locked when I switch to S-Mode and can't see it behaving much differently than D-mode (though I haven't validated this thoroughly).

Can anyone explain how the TC lock should be working in S-Mode vs D-Mode?

Here is a quote from Matt,
”Gears 4/5/6 are full lock on nearly all loads
gears 1/2/3 are no lock, or full lock depending on load.”

I wonder when Mat is going to announce the surprise. If not just an update, not the turbo, then what?
Maybe we should start a poll:bananadance:

He has already stated it has nothing to do with the tacoma. No reason to be interested i suppose...Maybe they offered a job opportunity. That would make sence

I’ve noticed while in reverse the rpms surge and get all funky. First gear when coasting kinda does it to. I know this has been discussed previously. Just curious again how people handled this or addressed this.
