If UPS hasn't scanned the package, it's not in transit. That could mean several things, none of them very satisfying.

While I think the tune has greatly improved the truck (and I've posted as much), it hasn't convinced me to keep it yet, so I'm looking for more reasons. Can we get any updates on the below post...that was over a week ago... @OVTune ...thanks.

This tune really shines in 4H. 12” overnight and 12 mile coffee commute this am. The new power down low is exactly what this truck needed. Other than the magnificent traction (credit to Falken Wildpeak AT3/Ws) I couldn’t tell the truck was working to turn extra wheels.
The tip in was not an issue (I now have close to 700 miles on the 87 tune)
*side note: my son drove it this past weekend while I was passenger. He commented that it seemed a little jumpy, but what does he know - he’s 16 and doesn’t enmven have his license yet :)

"03" is the latest version that includes the TSB for "shift feeling enhancements"

You won't want to go back to stock. Ever. Unless you break something. don't. :)

Guess the Tacoma is not for you then. Best wishes on finding something that suits your needs.

for someone who doesnt want to go thru 672 pages can someone tell me what these mean:
    surge in reverse
    tip in
    jumpy

if i have a $47k truck (thats what i paid its a TRD Pro) and while i'd like more power and better shfting (auto) i do not want it surgin and jumpin and tipin
please advise. does everyone experience these? or is it a crap shoot? you may or may not? whats the deal?

Thanks for your undoubtedly sincere thoughts about what is right for me, but I'll make my own decisions in my own sweet time. I'm a cheap bastard so it's hard to get rid of a 1 YO truck and take a $7-10K depreciation hit,
especially when I paid cash for it. If it was a matter of getting rid of a $600+ a month payment like so man Tacoma "owners" it would be an EASY decision to make.

surge is just that, a surge of power when in reverse. a few, but not all have reported this
tip in- its how touchy the throttle is from the get go. many people are asking for the throttle to be a little less touchy from 0-10% throttle so it's not so hard to start from a standstill in wet/slick conditions
jumpy- think this is the same complaint as the surge, just different words

Since you feel the need to explain yourself, it seems you are reaching for validation. You can undoubtedly take my comments as you see fit. If your unhappy with the Tacoma, I simple offered best wishes on finding what's best for you.

From what I've read, yes that is correct, not everyone has experienced them. the Obviously worth it part... well that is up to each individual person. as you can see @speedtre while he may be happy with the tune, it hasn't made him love his truck. several others have said it did just that, make them love their truck. all personal preference... just go into it with realistic expectations. it's not going to become a ford Raptor in acceleration or a prius in MPG, but it should improve both.

I'll get my dongle tomorrow, and tune this weekend. so we'll see how I feel then, but I'm expecting a nice improvement in drivability (mainly responsiveness) and maybe a little boost to MPG.

I'm not seeing a great MPH boost. Perhaps it's because of my mostly 7.5 mile city commute, I've been seeing around 16. Highway is better obviously, but MPG is not what this tune is about. I am in the 91 tune and have yet to try 87. I have 300 miles on 91 and think I'll try 87 and see how that goes, but I've heard the power one gives up in the midrange and top end are hard to let go of .

I had it(surge in reverse) right after installing the latest tune. OV stated in this thread that we should
let the truck idle and not touch it for 10-15 min. so it could learn the new tune properly. After doing that,
    it never happened again.

For those asking - and potentially concerned about the comments on tip-in and surging. These are not a big deal overall - especially when compared to stock. Compared to where this truck started, I'd take a bit of flaring and a more aggressive tip-in all day long if I had to make the choice. Good thing is, it will only continue to get better!

no I completely understand that... compared to most here I'm a conservative driver, I'm averaging 18-20 in town (depending on winter/summer gas it seems) I'm hoping for that to be more consistently at 20. I commute about 10 miles in the city, but I sit at 40mph (speed limit) with cruse on, and let everyone else hurry on to work. nice side effect of allowing me to enjoy the drive rather than get caught up in the road rage with the moron drivers around here.

what was your MPG before the tune though? my sig has a link to my fuely, tracked from tank 1 (a couple fill ups are missing, thanks to my wife lol) but 20 is my combined average with a high of 24 three times and a low of 16 twice
