I hear you....and sympathize with the same questions. But there is a a reason that people have FAQ sections! So you don't have to answer the same question a thousand times. But even a FAQ requires updating. Let's imagine page 1 as where people should start. Not unreasonable right?

Here is an example. I am looking at page 1. How does someone purchase this tune? See it there? And it STILL talks about 'registering your dongle':

Note, if you ALREADY have registered your USB dongle, and just want to update your ECU, simply download the flash manager, select your tune files, download them then flash the truck using the same process as done any time in the past.
you do NOT need to register your dongle again to use flash manager.
Flash manager is used for downloading / collecting the tune(s) and OEM files for your truck.
it is also used to link you to the software/ drivers necessary when starting with your tuning kit.

If you are new to flashing your truck or just receiving your kit, follow our v2 instructions.

Now ask yourself, "Why am I getting these questions, over and over?" What makes it worse is that your post that contains the "All kits are now shipped with the dongles already registered with guardant" statement will be buried on page 674. Again, "Why do I continue to get the same questions?"

I'm NOT trying to give you $hit, but rather make you understand why I have not sent you money. I want the tune. But I won't deal with the chaos. And neither will a good number of other people. What am I supposed to think will happen 2 years from now?

Again, I want the tune. PLEASE get organized. There are people that can help and don't need access* to any of your tuning info or resources.

NOT intended to imply any desire to compete with Matt. Really, just want him to sell more!

You haven't purchased the tune because of the chaos of the process but able to keep up with the chaos of Tacoma world? Sorry, I just found that funny.

I leave both statements up because some people who have bought kits beforehand to have not started the process, and the instructions must work for everyone, including people who bought at the very beginning, as some were waiting for a final version before doing anything.

I got a video of my truck on cold start and *think* I see what you guys are talking about regarding cold surge, I'll post it when I can.

Having the main point of customer support being a forum that is polluted with irrelevant chatter is a part of the problem.
I fall on the side of encouraging OV to seek greater organization. That being said, I believe this is his desire. It is clear to us because he has taken at least a few steps in that direction already (flash manager, pre-registered dongles). Being on the front side of development shifts the priority though. He is obviously focused on the product at this point and I appreciate that. Future customers like Mike O will just have to wait for the development to get to a point where Matt’s priority can shift to customer support.
I’d like to add that it is my observation that there hasn’t been an “issue” that Matt has not corrected, is in the process of correcting, or is currently looking into it for correction

I just went to the mountains on the weekend in a small storm. I had 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.......00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Problems with throttle tip in on wet, rainy, slushy, icy and firsts thing in the morning 3 inches of snow. 87 octane tune. Its really subjective. If I mashed the peddle the trac and vcs kicked in and stopped the fun. I drove normal 2wd and had zero problems.

I did laugh at the people chaining up, at 3000ft miles and miles before you could even see snow.

Nice t.i.t.s. I miss the snow so bad since I moved. Would love to take my truck to the snow and try the tune out.

Sorry if I left the impression I wanted in any way to compete with Matt. I don't. I want to purchase from a vendor that I can be sure can/will provide support. Apparently that is unreasonable. Does page 1 tell somebody how to buy this tune?

I don't have to spend $ to read; although it does cost me from time to time. My Baja Designs fogs just hit the door.....

Ha... I'm just giving you some sh*t... don't get mad. But seriously, check his website out first if you are wanting to buy. Just realize the development is literally ongoing and you are getting a one of a kind product from a guy that has built it up based on the community feedback you see. Yes, that community involvement makes it a little bit more messy, but I firmly believe that it's been beneficial for the product.

If someone needs a specific instruction directing them to the vendor's website for purchase, I'd question their ability to function in everyday life.

Comments like these are unnecessary and only clutter the thread more.

@Mike O offered solid feedback and didn't read as offensive.

First impressions on 1.03 (91octane). Alot more power down low. Buttery smooth shifting. My truck no longer violently shifts from park to reverse anymore like it did stock. Truck drives exactly how it should have from the factory and then some. ECT is fun AF i feel so much power all through out the rev range. 6th gear holds great and my mpg has gone up quite a bit when im not mashing the peddle having fun with the tune. Throttle is a tad sensative when taking off but i would not call it a “surge” you need to adjust your self to the tune and not the sluggish stock tune. These are just my first impressions i have alot more driving to do! Thanks @OVTune

Has anyone had an issue where the dongle drivers won't install? My netbook has windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Initially my netbook kept using Windows updates to install the drivers but I couldn't communicate with the dongle to get the serial number. I disabled windows update, deleted everything, reinstalled everything and the drivers still fail to load. I'm completely stuck and not sure what to do. I've emailed Matt but I know he's pretty busy. I know I'm following the steps correctly, I just have a weird issue.

R&D Truck test from dead cold.
    cold start RPM 1100 RPM

    1. minimal RPM fluctuation when turning wheel
    2. reversing from parking lot did not require any throttle input, on cold engine, 1100 rpm truck could move itself.
2B. Reversing + spinning the wheel did not make any noticeable difference.
    3. Reverse + immediate throttle input (0MPH, no movement) > touchy on cold engine
3B. reversing and giving light throttle, no immediate jolt or surging (after truck began to move itself without throttle)
    4. from park, D mode no throttle, truck moves itself smoothly
4B. From park > D > light throttle (slow movement, parking lot speed) no issue
    5. from a stop, in D mode, moving, light throttle, truck moves lightly and then around 1300-1400 rpm or so response / acceleration will ramp up with same gas pedal angle.

#5 is the only thing I could find that I would think could be considered surgy.

    - I think a little bit of throttle map smoothing for reverse and 1rst gear will lighten this up. Although in my opinion at parking lot speed the truck doesn't even need throttle at all to move when the engine is cold, so I've never tested gassing it from a cold engine when backing up

Yes, firewall and defender were disabled from the very beginning. The OBD drivers installed and loaded correctly. But for some reason my computer is fighting the dongle driver.
I've been trying to get my dongle serial number since last night and no success. Is windows xp an option? I remember reading that 32 bit wasn't working at first. I have an older laptop loaded with XP.
